Overall rating is a useful first filter, not a statement that the three 96-rated players perform identically. An elite tackle, cornerback and running back affect different parts of gameplay, so position and scheme matter when choosing a player.

EA’s table was published July 11, 2024, ahead of the game’s worldwide July 19 launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The labels below preserve its tied ranks; therefore, a label such as T4 represents a tie rather than a unique fourth-place ordinal.

How to use the ratings in game
Start with overall, then compare role
Use overall rating to find the strongest players quickly, then compare position, attributes and your scheme. A 96-rated offensive tackle helps protection and blocking; a 96-rated corner changes coverage matchups; a 96-rated running back affects carries, cuts and open-field production. They are not interchangeable roster upgrades.
Check the school context
The list is organized by school, which makes it useful for Dynasty roster planning and head-to-head team selection. EA’s position and conference views provide additional ways to sort the same ratings information.

Did the ratings change after launch?
Yes. EA’s October 24, 2024 title update changed player ratings and abilities, concentrated on top-25 teams and players, and added more than 700 players. Consequently, the table above should be treated as the July 11 launch-era snapshot rather than a promise that every number remains current in an updated game.
