What should Steam users do now?
Watch the next major seasonal sale
The next major seasonal event is the Steam Autumn Sale, October 1–8, 2026. The Steam Winter Sale follows from December 17, 2026, through January 4, 2027. Smaller themed or publisher-led promotions may occur before those dates.

Check each game before buying
- Prices and discount depth can differ by currency, region, tax treatment and publisher.
- For Steam Deck purchases, check the individual game’s Deck compatibility indicator and recent community reports; a PC discount does not guarantee full handheld compatibility.
- Confirm that your hardware and operating system meet the game’s requirements.
Common timing and coverage mistakes
June 25 did not mean midnight locally
The confirmed launch moment was 10:00 a.m. PDT, equivalent to 5:00 p.m. UTC. If Steam’s countdown or store display presents a different local format, use that live display as the immediate reference.
Summer Sale was not Steam Next Fest
Steam Next Fest was a separate, demo-focused event scheduled for June 15–22, 2026. It was not the store-wide Summer Sale.

Launch-day loading delays were possible
Heavy traffic can make the client or website load slowly, leave an old banner visible or delay price updates. Refresh the store page or restart Steam before assuming a title is missing from the promotion. A missing discount can also simply reflect publisher participation choices.
