In most countries outside the European Union, you can now install Fortnite normally from the iPhone or iPad App Store. Epic says the App Store version is available worldwide except Australia. If Fortnite is missing from your storefront, use Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, or Amazon Luna instead of downloading an unofficial IPA.

The fastest method: install Fortnite from the App Store
Epic’s latest support guidance says Fortnite is available on iPhone and iPad through the App Store worldwide except Australia. That makes the App Store the normal route for readers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Latin America and most other non-EU locations. See Epic’s current availability guidance.
- Update iOS or iPadOS if an update is available.
- Open the App Store, not a third-party download site.
- Search for Fortnite, or use Epic’s official Fortnite mobile page to reach the listing.
- Confirm that the developer is Epic Games.
- Tap Get, the cloud-download icon, or Update, depending on your Apple Account’s history.
- Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple Account password.
- Open Fortnite after installation and sign in with an Epic Games account, or create one.
- Allow the game to download additional in-game files and updates.
The exact button can differ if you previously downloaded Fortnite. The device also needs to meet Epic’s current iPhone or iPad requirements and have sufficient free storage; Epic’s mobile page has separate compatibility and cloud-play FAQs.

Verify that the listing is genuine
- The developer must be listed as Epic Games.
- Do not install an “IPA,” configuration profile, signing certificate or “Fortnite installer” from a website.
- Never enter your Apple or Epic password into a third-party download page.
- Epic’s official distribution routes are described at epicgames.com.

Epic’s pages are not perfectly synchronized: an older installation article still describes a narrower United States, EU and Japan list. The newer support article and current iOS page state “worldwide except Australia,” so that is the availability position used here. Check your own App Store because storefront eligibility can vary.
If Fortnite does not appear in the App Store
Physical location and the country assigned to your Apple Account are separate. A phone outside the EU can still be using an Apple storefront configured for another country. Work through these checks in order:

- Search directly in the App Store and follow Epic’s official iOS link.
- Check the Apple Account’s country or region.
- Make sure Screen Time, family controls or age restrictions are not blocking game downloads.
- Check available storage.
- Confirm that the iPhone or iPad and its operating-system version meet Epic’s current requirements.
- Restart the device and try again.
- Check whether you are in Australia or another market where the listing is unavailable.
- If the listing remains unavailable, switch to cloud gaming.
Do not casually change your Apple Account country to obtain an app. Region changes can affect subscriptions, payment methods, account balances and previously purchased content. A VPN also does not reliably change an Apple storefront or make an app legally available in another market.
Play Fortnite without installing it
Epic lists Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce NOW and Amazon Luna as supported cloud options. Cloud gaming streams Fortnite to Safari or a provider interface; it does not install the native Fortnite app on your iPhone or iPad. Availability, queues, plans, input support and features vary by country and provider.

General cloud-gaming setup
- Open the provider’s official Fortnite page in Safari.
- Sign in or create the required provider account.
- Use the same Epic Games account when prompted if you want your progression and cosmetics available across platforms.
- Select Fortnite and start the stream.
- Add the provider’s web app to the Home Screen if that option is offered.
- Play with touch controls or a compatible controller.
Cloud quality depends on the complete network path, not just the advertised internet speed. For a laggy stream, use strong Wi-Fi, move closer to the router, stop other high-bandwidth activity, try another supported provider, and use a reliable controller connection. Streaming can consume substantial data and battery, especially over cellular service.
What not to do
- Do not download Fortnite from an unofficial IPA repository.
- Do not install unknown profiles or certificates that promise a sideloaded copy.
- Do not jailbreak a device just to bypass regional availability.
- Do not pay a third party for an app Epic distributes through official channels.
Unofficial packages can contain malware, steal credentials, stop working when certificates are revoked, and fail to receive dependable updates. Epic’s supported options are the App Store, alternative stores in eligible regions, and cloud gaming; random IPA sites are not among them.

Choosing the right route
- Choose the App Store when Fortnite appears, your device passes Epic’s requirements and you want the lowest practical latency.
- Choose cloud gaming when the local listing is unavailable, the native app will not run, or you prefer to avoid a large download and have reliable low-latency internet.
- Choose another platform when you need consistent native performance but do not have a supported iPhone or iPad route.

Can I use touch controls or a controller?
Native installation supports the device’s available touch controls. Cloud services also commonly offer touch input and may support compatible controllers, but exact support differs by provider and region.
Does cloud gaming install Fortnite?
No. It streams the game and normally uses a browser or cloud-service interface.
Why can a friend see Fortnite when I cannot?
Your Apple Account storefront, device compatibility, operating-system version, restrictions or local availability may differ from your friend’s.
What if Fortnite becomes unavailable again?
