Keep anything marked “Used in,” sell items tagged “Trinket” with the diamond icon, and recycle only after checking the preview. Recycle in Speranza for the full component return; recycling during a raid returns only 50% of the usual components. Because item uses and yields can change with patches, treat the current item card and preview in your build as the final authority.
The three rules that prevent expensive mistakes
- Keep progression items. If the item card shows Used in, stash it for the listed recipe, quest, workshop upgrade, or project. Select Track Resources to place an eye icon on materials you still need.
- Sell trinkets. A diamond icon and the Trinket tag identify items intended for coin value that cannot be recycled.
- Recycle only after viewing the preview. The confirmation screen lists the exact components you will receive. In Speranza you get 100% of that amount; recycling from a raid gives 50%.
How to decide: keep, sell, or recycle
| What the item card shows | Action | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Used in or an eye icon | Keep and stash it | It is tied to a known recipe, quest, workshop upgrade, or project. |
| Trinket plus a diamond icon | Sell it | These items are coin-focused and cannot be recycled. |
| Recyclable with no progression use | Open the preview, then compare values | The parts may be worth more than an intact sale, but the preview is the authoritative yield. |
| Unclear use or conflicting information | Keep it until you can check the next requirement | Patch changes and rarity rolls can make a seemingly ordinary item valuable later. |
What to keep in your stash
Protect scarce materials and anything commonly consumed by progression. Examples reported by current guides include:
- ARC Alloy and ARC Motion Cores
- Power Cables and Wasp Drivers
- Rusted Tools, Rusted Gears, and Rusted Shut Medical Kits
- Damaged Heat Sinks, Motors, and Cooling Coils
- Laboratory Reagents and Industrial Batteries
- Surveyor Vaults
- Fruits and mushrooms
- Drivers, Wires, Batteries, and Sensors
This is a protection list, not a permanent quota. The correct reserve is whatever your next workshop level, quest, or project requires. Open each item and follow the Used in entries rather than relying on a generic list; a future patch or a different rarity roll can change the answer.
Items that are usually good recycling candidates
After confirming that an item has no current Used in requirement, common household and damaged loot is often better as components than as a finished item. Examples include:

Representative baseline yields listed by the BrokenBuilds Wiki (updated June 27, 2026) are shown below. Exact quantities can vary with rarity rolls, so confirm every transaction in the in-game preview.
| Item | Example output |
|---|---|
| Candle Holder | 8× Metal Parts |
| Garlic Press | 12× Metal Parts |
| Camera Lens | 8× Plastic Parts |
| Household Cleaner | 11× Chemicals |
| Impure ARC Coolant | 12× Chemicals |
| Burned ARC Circuitry | 2× ARC Alloy |
| Damaged ARC Motion Core | 2× ARC Alloy |
Some items, such as a Damaged Heat Sink, appear on both broad recycle examples and progression keep lists. Recycle one only when its current card shows no requirement you still need.

Sell versus recycle: use the numbers, not the item name
Compare the item’s direct sale price with the combined vendor value of the components shown in the recycle preview. The documented Power Bank example illustrates the method:
| Choice | Value | Calculation |
|---|---|---|
| Sell intact | 640 coins | Direct vendor price |
| Recycle | 1,400 coins in parts | 4× Battery at 250 coins (1,000) plus 2× Wires at 200 coins (400) |
For that example, recycling produces the higher theoretical vendor value, provided you do not need the Power Bank intact. Repeat the comparison with the current preview and current vendor prices; do not assume every recyclable item follows the same pattern.

Where and when to recycle
Speranza: full return
Recycle in Speranza when possible. The confirmation preview’s listed components are returned at 100% there, according to ARC Raiders Hub’s 2026 page crawl.
During a raid: half return
Recycling from the raid interface returns 50% of the usual components. If the item is not needed to make room immediately, extract first and recycle it in Speranza instead.

A fast field workflow
- Open the item card as soon as you pick up unfamiliar loot.
- If you see Trinket and the diamond icon, mark it for sale.
- If you see Used in or an eye icon, keep it and, if needed, use Track Resources.
- If the card says it can be recycled, open the confirmation preview and record the exact outputs.
- Compare the previewed component value with the direct sale price.
- Unless an emergency space decision requires otherwise, extract and perform the recycle in Speranza for the full return.
- Before the next match, clear excess loot from the loadout screen so a rushed raid decision is less likely.
What you should never sell casually
Do not sell an item merely because its name sounds common or because you have one spare copy. Never sell anything currently marked Used in, anything tracked with the eye icon, or a scarce material on your next workshop, quest, or project list. Selling removes the intact item; recycling also destroys it, so both actions require the same progression check first.
Why the preview matters
The interface labels Can be recycled into [components], Used in, and Trinket are more reliable than memorized community lists. Yields, uses, and values are patch-sensitive, and rarity rolls can alter component counts. Read the card and preview in your own current build immediately before committing the item.
