Monument Valley 3 is free to download and start on the U.S. Apple App Store and Google Play, but only its first two chapters are free. The rest of the campaign, including The Garden of Life, requires a one-time in-app purchase. Netflix was an official route at launch, but its current catalog should not be assumed to include the game.
Is Monument Valley 3 actually free?
The official listings describe Monument Valley 3 as free-to-start, not as a completely free game. You can download the official app, begin playing, and finish the first two chapters without paying. Reaching the later content brings up a one-time unlock.
| What “free” means here | What you receive |
|---|---|
| Free download | The mobile app can be installed without an upfront purchase. |
| Free opening content | The first two chapters, including the introductory puzzles and story setup. |
| Fully free game | No. The remaining main campaign and expansion are paywalled. |
| Free-to-play service | No. This is not presented as an ad-supported game with endless free content or recurring microtransactions. |
The Apple App Store listing and Google Play listing both identify the opening two chapters as free access. The listings also advertise no ads, although store policies and app behavior can change.

If you cannot find the iPhone or iPad listing
- Your country’s storefront may not have the same availability.
- Your device or iOS/iPadOS version may no longer meet compatibility requirements.
- Screen Time, parental controls, or purchase restrictions may hide the app or block the unlock.
- You may be searching for an older Netflix-distributed version rather than the current standalone listing.
Check the official Apple listing for your own country. Do not use a third-party download site to work around a missing listing.
How to play the free portion on Android
- Open Google Play.
- Search for the exact title, Monument Valley 3.
- Verify that ustwo games is the developer and compare the listing with Google Play’s official page.
- Tap Install.
- Launch the game and complete the first two chapters.
- Ignore the one-time purchase if you do not want to unlock the rest.
Google Play labels the game as a single-player puzzle title and offline-capable. Install and launch it once while connected so downloads, account checks, and any required data can complete; offline behavior can vary after updates or purchase verification.
If Android installation fails
- Check Android version, device compatibility, and available storage.
- Confirm the Google Play country setting and whether the device uses Google Play at all.
- Review parental controls and purchase restrictions.
- Make sure you are not responding to a search advertisement for a counterfeit app.
The store’s live page is the authority for its current “Updated on” date and compatibility details; those fields can change.

What is included in the free chapters?
The no-cost portion includes the opening two chapters, the introductory perspective-based puzzles, and the initial story setup involving Noor. It is enough to try the visual style, controls, and core perspective mechanics.

The U.S. Apple App Store listing displayed $5.99 for “Unlock Full Game” on August 18, 2026. That is a U.S. iOS price signal, not a universal price: taxes, currency, country, platform, and future price changes can produce a different amount. Always read the purchase screen in your own storefront before confirming.
Does Netflix still include Monument Valley 3?
Netflix announced Monument Valley 3 as part of its games offering at launch. That historical announcement is available at Netflix’s newsroom.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →However, the current official Netflix Games catalog reviewed in July 2026 does not list Monument Valley 3. That absence is not proof of a worldwide delisting in every market, but it is insufficient evidence to recommend Netflix as a current way to play this title. The Apple and Google listings are the clearest current evidence for the standalone mobile version.

Netflix says an active membership is required for Netflix games and that there is no separate game purchase or game account; see its help page. Membership access does not establish that this particular game remains in the catalog.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is there a free trial or subscription requirement?
The first two chapters are presented as free access in the current store descriptions. They are chapter-based free content, not a stated seven-day or 30-day trial. You do not need to start a subscription to test those chapters.
Can you unlock the entire game for free legally?
No verified permanent free-unlock method is established by the current official listings. Legitimate discounts, giveaways, or subscription bundles can change by country and date, so treat them as temporary offers only when the official vendor explicitly displays them.

Best Value
If you cannot pay now, the safe options are to keep playing the free chapters, wait for an official sale, or check your own store for a clearly identified promotion. Do not treat piracy as an alternative purchase method.
Avoid fake “free full version” downloads
Do not use pirated APKs or IPAs, cracked installers, torrents, “unlimited gems” tools, account sellers, fake Netflix pages, or sites promising a modified full version. They can install malware, steal store credentials, trigger payment fraud, compromise a child’s device, and create copyright or account risks.
Verify ustwo games as the developer and install through Apple or Google. The official free chapters provide a safe way to decide whether the complete game is worth buying.
Is the free version worth trying?
Choose the free start if you want to:
- Test the perspective puzzles and presentation on your device.
- Play a short casual session without ads or a recurring charge.
- Decide whether Noor’s opening story is worth continuing.
- Avoid paying until you know the controls and performance suit you.
Buy the unlock if you want to:
- Continue beyond the first two chapters.
- Finish the main story.
- Play The Garden of Life and its additional chapters.
- Pay once rather than subscribe, assuming the price shown in your store is acceptable.
In practical terms, the current model is closer to a premium game demo followed by a one-time unlock than to a traditional free-to-play game.
