Apple’s iPhone Air promotional material briefly appeared to list Arknights: Endfield for an “early 2026” release. The wording was later replaced with a standard disclaimer saying the release date could change. Hypergryph eventually confirmed the worldwide launch for January 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. UTC+8—inside the window Apple had apparently exposed, but not a date Apple itself officially announced.
What Apple’s promotion actually revealed
According to a contemporary report, an official iPhone Air product page or related promotional asset displayed Arknights: Endfield with an “early 2026” release window. The wording was subsequently changed to say that the game was coming to iOS while directing readers to the developer for current release information and noting that the date was subject to change. The report is documented by iXBT Games.
That distinction matters: Apple did not publish January 22, 2026, and the original wording was a broad window rather than a precise launch date. The strongest description is that Apple’s marketing briefly exposed an apparent release-window reference.
It was product marketing, not necessarily a conventional advert
“Advert” is convenient shorthand, but the available evidence points to Apple’s official iPhone Air marketing rather than a separately distributed television commercial or paid third-party advertisement. In its September 9, 2025 newsroom announcement, Apple presented Endfield as an example of the iPhone Air’s gaming capabilities, linking the title to the phone’s A19 Pro chip and five-core GPU.

Why the apparent leak attracted attention
When the wording appeared, Hypergryph had not published an exact launch date, and contemporary coverage noted that the official Endfield website did not yet provide one. The sequence was unusual:

- This pre-owned product is not Apple certified, but has been professionally inspected, tested and cleaned by Amazon-qualified suppliers.
- There will be no visible cosmetic imperfections when held at an arm’s length.
- This product is eligible for a replacement or refund within 90 days of receipt if you are not satisfied.
- Product may come in generic Box.
- Apple used an unreleased game to showcase iPhone Air gaming performance.
- The promotional material apparently included an “early 2026” window.
- That wording was removed and replaced by a release-date disclaimer.
- Hypergryph later announced an exact date within the same window.
That made the report more significant than ordinary release speculation, while still stopping short of a formal announcement by Apple.
Hypergryph later confirmed the real launch date
Hypergryph’s official pre-download notice set the worldwide release for January 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. UTC+8. The notice lists PlayStation 5, PC, Android, iOS and the Epic Games Store, and says cross-platform save synchronization is supported when players use the same account. The authoritative announcement is at Gryphline.

Did Apple’s leak prove correct?
Broadly, yes. January 22 is plainly an early-2026 date, so the reported Apple wording matched the eventual launch window. It does not follow that Apple independently confirmed the final schedule: Hypergryph remained the authoritative source for the exact date and time.

Was the disclosure intentional?
There is no cited statement from Apple or Hypergryph establishing why the wording changed. Plausible explanations include a content-management mistake, premature publication of copy supplied by the developer or publisher, or a marketing update posted before the date was formally ready to announce. Those possibilities should not be presented as proven facts.

Apple positioned the game as evidence that the iPhone Air could handle demanding mobile software. A later Apple Developer feature describes Endfield as a technically ambitious title featuring 3D combat, large environments and factory-building systems. That feature is available at Apple Developer.

Does playing Endfield require an iPhone Air?
No. Hypergryph’s launch notice lists substantially older compatible hardware:
- Minimum iOS: iOS 15.0 or later.
- Minimum iPhone: iPhone XS.
- Minimum iPad: an iPad with an A12 chip or later.
- Recommended iPhone: iPhone 13 Pro.
- Recommended iPad: an iPad with an A15 chip or later.
- Memory: at least 4 GB RAM minimum; 6 GB or more recommended.
- Free storage: at least 25 GB.
Actual results can differ with thermals, storage headroom, graphics settings and device condition. Apple’s choice of the iPhone Air as a showcase device demonstrates its marketing focus; it does not make the phone a requirement. Check your existing device and available storage before considering an upgrade.
Bottom line
Apple’s iPhone Air promotion appears to have exposed a genuine Arknights: Endfield release window before replacing it with a changeable-date disclaimer. The “early 2026” wording was not an exact-date announcement, and the accidental nature of the disclosure remains unverified. Hypergryph later supplied the definitive schedule: January 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. UTC+8. In retrospect, Apple’s apparent leak was broadly right about the timing, but not the final authority.
