The Associated Press reported in 2026 that the Fast & Furious films had collected more than $7 billion at the box office. That is a dated reported total from AP, not a permanently current lifetime figure.
Is the Peacock series the 2028 movie?
No. Peacock announced a separate, untitled Fast & Furious-universe original series in development on May 11, 2026. Its announcement explicitly said that no premiere date had been set at that time. It does not identify the series as Fast Forever or connect it to the film’s March 17, 2028 theatrical date.

Who is attached to the Peacock project?
Peacock’s announcement names Vin Diesel and Sam Vincent of One Race Films, Neal Moritz and Pavun Shetty of Original Film, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Chris Morgan as executive producers. Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman are named co-showrunners.
Peacock quoted Diesel saying, “For the last decade, we have realized that the fans have wanted more,” and, “They wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories.” Those remarks support the series’ development, not a premiere date or a confirmed connection to Fast Forever.

How can you catch up before 2028?
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced a 25th-anniversary remaster of the original 2001 film, The Fast and the Furious. The disc release is scheduled for August 25, 2026 and includes 4K Ultra HD, a limited-edition 4K SteelBook option, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and retrospective bonus content.
Those are home-release details for the 2001 movie, not an edition of Fast Forever. The announced 4K disc lists a 1:47:00 runtime and a PG-13 rating for the original film’s release.
