Infinix announced on May 14, 2024, that its GT 20 Pro was among the first smartphones to support PUBG MOBILE at up to 120 frames per second (FPS). The gaming-focused phone pairs a 144Hz AMOLED display with a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate processor and a dedicated Pixelworks X5 Turbo display chip. The claim describes a capability, not a guarantee that every match will run at a locked 120FPS: game version, settings, temperature and regional support can all affect what players see.
What Infinix announced
Infinix positioned the GT 20 Pro as an esports-oriented phone and said it could support PUBG MOBILE at up to 120FPS. The May 14, 2024 announcement described the device as part of the first batch of smartphones worldwide with that support; this is Infinix’s claim, not an independent ranking or benchmark result. Infinix’s announcement also said the company was returning for a second consecutive year as official gaming-phone sponsor for PUBG MOBILE Super League regions EMEA and CSA.
This is a 2024 product announcement, not a new launch. The company’s wording is best read as “up to 120FPS”: whether the option is available and how consistently it performs depends on the PUBG MOBILE build, device software, settings and playing conditions.
What 120FPS means in a match
At 120FPS, a frame can be produced about every 8.3 milliseconds; at 60FPS, the interval is about 16.7 milliseconds. Those figures describe frame cadence, not total input or network latency. A higher frame rate can make camera movement and aiming look smoother, but it does not by itself eliminate touch delay, improve ping or guarantee a quicker reaction.

Three separate measures matter:
- Refresh rate: how often the screen can update. The GT 20 Pro’s panel is rated up to 144Hz.
- Game frame rate: how many frames PUBG MOBILE actually renders or outputs, subject to its settings and device support.
- Sustained performance: whether the phone can maintain a steady frame cadence as heat and power conditions change.
A 144Hz screen can display a 120FPS output, but it does not make PUBG MOBILE generate 120 frames per second. The game, operating system, processor, temperature and supported device profile all play a part. Infinix lists both the 144Hz display and an “up to 120FPS gaming experience” on its GT 20 Pro product page.
How the GT 20 Pro handles gaming frames
The central hardware combination is a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate processor and Pixelworks X5 Turbo dedicated gaming-display chip. Infinix says the Pixelworks chip supports MEMC (motion estimation and motion compensation) frame interpolation, gaming visual enhancements and frame-rate enhancement up to 120FPS. The company says MEMC can elevate a 60FPS source to 120FPS.

Interpolation estimates or generates frames between existing ones to make motion appear smoother. Those added frames are not the same as frames natively rendered by the game, and fast motion or overlays may not look identical. So the announcement should not be read as proof that PUBG MOBILE natively renders every displayed frame at 120FPS.
Other launch specifications listed by Infinix include up to 12GB of LPDDR5X memory, UFS 3.1 storage, a 360Hz touch-sampling rate and a claimed 1500Hz instantaneous touch-sampling rate. The phone also has a 5000mAh battery and 45W charging. These specifications support the gaming pitch, but none independently establishes a particular match’s frame rate.

Can it keep 120FPS over time?
Infinix’s product page claims “up to 120FPS for 60 minutes” and gives a frame-rate variation figure of 3.5. It also describes a Stable Frame-rate Engine, Xboost, esports mode and cooling that combines phase-change material, graphite and vapor-chamber cooling. These are manufacturer claims; the published information does not establish the game settings, ambient temperature, brightness, battery state, case use or firmware used for the 60-minute figure, nor whether the result used native rendering, interpolation or both.
Actual performance can vary with a hot room, a thick case, low battery, charging heat, screen brightness and software updates. A high FPS reading that fluctuates can feel less consistent than a lower, steadier rate. Network problems are a separate issue: high ping or packet loss can make play feel delayed or uneven even when frame rate is high.

How to check for a 120FPS option
PUBG MOBILE’s graphics menu and available frame-rate choices can change by version, region and device profile. Use the highest option actually offered by your installed game rather than assuming every GT 20 Pro shows the same label.
- Update PUBG MOBILE from its official app store and install available GT 20 Pro system updates.
- Turn off battery-saving restrictions for the test, and let the phone cool if it is already warm.
- Open PUBG MOBILE’s Settings, then Graphics. Choose the highest available frame-rate option; depending on the build, a 120FPS option may be called “Ultra Extreme” or use different wording.
- Enable the phone’s gaming, performance or esports mode if available.
- Check the result in a training area or real match, not just the lobby. If the current game version offers an FPS indicator, use it to verify frame rate rather than relying on the display’s refresh-rate setting.
- Play for 10–15 minutes and watch for drops as the phone warms up.
These steps are practical checks, not a promise that a particular menu label will appear. A third-party setup guide also notes that labels can vary; Infinix and PUBG MOBILE support are the better channels for device- or account-specific problems.

If the 120FPS choice is missing or performance drops
- No 120FPS option: The game may not have recognized the device profile, the feature may depend on a graphics preset or mode, or support may differ by region or game build. Restart the game and phone, update both the game and system software, and check performance mode again.
- The option appears but FPS falls: Test with the phone cool and unplugged. If necessary, lower GPU-heavy visual effects and check again after several minutes; heat and power management can affect sustained performance.
- Play stutters despite a high FPS reading: Check whether the issue is inconsistent frame pacing, touch response or network latency. Ping and packet loss can cause a different kind of disruption from a frame-rate drop.
- Settings seem ineffective: Confirm that an in-game FPS indicator, if available, shows the result you want. A 144Hz display setting alone does not verify PUBG MOBILE’s frame rate.
If the option remains absent after updates, contact Infinix or PUBG MOBILE support. Avoid modified clients, unofficial configuration files and third-party FPS unlockers, which can create account and security risks.

Infinix directed buyers to regional launches for pricing and availability, so there is no single global price or confirmed current price established here. Check the relevant local listing—for example, Infinix Latin America, Infinix Indonesia or Infinix Saudi Arabia—and confirm the specific regional model and warranty before buying.
Is it a good choice for PUBG MOBILE?
The GT 20 Pro is aimed at players who value a high-refresh display, gaming modes and dedicated display processing. Whether those features justify buying it depends on the local price and, most importantly, whether the buyer’s current PUBG MOBILE version offers the desired frame-rate option. A 120FPS headline is not enough on its own: consider stable performance during longer sessions, heat and battery behavior, warranty and whether gaming matters more than camera quality or compact size.
