Nintendo support hours
Nintendo lists general U.S./Canada phone support hours as 6 a.m.–7 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Sunday. Its service-request information lists English and Spanish assistance during those hours and French specialists from 7 a.m.–4 p.m. Pacific Time. Schedules may change, and observed holidays can affect availability. Confirm current options on Nintendo’s warranty and service information and service request information pages.
Choose the right support method
- Console will not power on, charge, display, or connect: Search Nintendo’s troubleshooting pages first; if the steps do not resolve it, call or start a service request.
- Joy-Con or controller trouble: Try Nintendo’s controller troubleshooting and use the service-request route if the problem persists.
- Nintendo Account access: Use online account support or chat. Avoid creating a second account until you have tried recovering the original; purchases and entitlements may be tied to it.
- eShop, missing game, or unauthorized charge: Use account and eShop support, signing in when prompted for personalized purchase help.
- Scratched prepaid card or download code: Use the relevant support form or help ticket if offered; phone support is another option.
- Need a written record: A help ticket, chat transcript, or SMS conversation can document the exchange.
- Network problem: Check Nintendo’s network-status and maintenance information via its support page before resetting equipment or requesting hardware service.
- Third-party game or accessory: Contact the game publisher, accessory manufacturer, or retailer when they are responsible. Nintendo directs customers with third-party games to the relevant publisher or licensee; see its game replacement options.
How to contact Nintendo online
- Open Nintendo’s Contact Us page.
- Choose the product and issue, or search Nintendo’s support knowledge base for the exact symptom or error code.
- Try the automated chatbot for routine troubleshooting and routing.
- If the recommended steps do not help, select an offered option such as live chat, SMS, phone, or a help ticket. Not every issue offers every method.
- Sign in to your Nintendo Account when prompted for account, purchase, or service assistance. Nintendo’s Switch support dashboard also links to personalized help and service-request information.
How to request a Nintendo Switch repair
Contacting support does not itself authorize a shipment. Follow the issue-specific troubleshooting steps and open a service request before sending a console or accessory.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Open Nintendo’s troubleshooting page and select the product and problem.
- Complete the recommended checks. If the issue remains, choose Start a service request at the bottom of the troubleshooting article when that option is provided.
- Create or sign in to a Nintendo Account where possible, then enter the requested console or accessory details. Nintendo may ask for a serial number to help determine warranty status.
- Provide contact, shipping, purchase, and problem details. Add payment information if the service may be chargeable.
- Review the acknowledgments and submit the request. Save the order or service-request number and follow the shipping instructions Nintendo provides.
- Track updates through Nintendo’s Service Center using your service-request or order number. Status updates may take several days during high service volume.
Do not ship the product before setting up the service request. Nintendo’s instructions are in its service request information.
What to prepare before contacting Nintendo
- Your Nintendo Account email or sign-in details. Never give anyone your password or two-step verification code.
- The product model—Switch, Switch Lite, Switch OLED, Switch 2, or the relevant accessory—and its serial number.
- The exact error message or code, when the problem began, and what happened immediately beforehand.
- Steps you have already tried and their results.
- Retailer, purchase date, and receipt or bill if warranty service may apply. Nintendo requires proof of purchase for warranty service.
- Photos or video of physical damage if Nintendo requests them.
- Your service-request number for an existing repair.
Warranty coverage and paid repair
For the United States and Canada, Nintendo says hardware, Nintendo-published games, and Nintendo accessories generally have a one-year warranty from the purchase date. Proof of purchase from an authorized retailer is required for warranty service. The exact terms vary by product and jurisdiction; Nintendo makes the final coverage decision after reviewing the product and documentation. See service request information and warranty and service information.
Standard warranty coverage excludes physical or liquid damage. Eligibility may also be affected by unauthorized modifications or tampering, an altered or removed serial number, misuse, counterfeit products, or damage caused by unlicensed products. A console being within its first year does not by itself guarantee a free repair.

Nintendo says factory service may be available for a fee after the warranty expires or for an issue not covered. Nintendo determines the available service and price during the process; if it finds a warranty submission is not covered, payment may be required before repair or replacement. Nintendo may repair the product or replace it, including with refurbished parts or a refurbished product that meets functional specifications. The terms are described in Nintendo’s Factory Service Terms & Conditions.
Protect saved data before service
Nintendo says it will attempt to preserve saved data, but recovery is not guaranteed and data can be lost. A service outcome may involve replacement rather than repair, and Nintendo disclaims liability for lost data. Back up or transfer data where possible before shipping, and remove private or confidential information when practical. Do not send a microSD card unless Nintendo’s instructions for your specific request require it. See the factory service terms and packaging instructions.
How to package a Switch for service
Follow the shipping instructions attached to your service request. Nintendo’s packaging guidance calls for an order letter that includes your name, return address, phone number, service-request number, problem description, and an itemized list of the contents.

Power, charging, or display problems
Use product-specific troubleshooting for a console that will not turn on, charge, or show an image. Record any error and the checks you attempted. If those steps do not resolve it, move to Nintendo’s service-request process rather than shipping the console without authorization.
Joy-Con drift or controller problems
Start with Nintendo’s controller troubleshooting. If the issue continues, choose the controller or accessory in the service request rather than assuming the console itself must be sent; follow Nintendo’s instructions about which item to ship.

Internet connection or service problems
Check Nintendo’s network status and maintenance information through the support site before changing local network settings. An outage or scheduled maintenance can look like a console connection failure.
Nintendo Account sign-in or security
Use account recovery for forgotten passwords, two-step verification trouble, lost access to the account email, or suspicious access. Do not share passwords or verification codes with anyone claiming to be support. Try to recover the original account before making another, so you do not leave purchases associated with an account you cannot access.
eShop purchases, codes, and downloads
For a missing digital game, purchase history, download code, prepaid card, refund or transaction question, or an unauthorized charge, select the matching account or eShop category on Nintendo’s contact page. Error codes and parental-controls PINs
Search Nintendo’s support knowledge base for the exact error code or forgotten-PIN issue before contacting an agent. Include the full code and any troubleshooting result in your request so the support route matches the actual problem.
Physical or liquid damage
Contact Nintendo to ask whether paid service is available, but do not assume physical or liquid damage qualifies for the standard warranty. Nintendo determines service options and cost after reviewing the request.
If Nintendo support is unavailable
- Use the 24/7 chatbot and support knowledge base for routine guidance.
- Check network status if the symptom involves online services.
- Save screenshots, error codes, and dates so you can describe the problem when an agent is available.
- For an existing repair, check the Service Center rather than opening a duplicate request.
- Try live chat or phone again during the published Pacific Time agent hours.
- Do not mail the console until Nintendo has created a service request and provided instructions.
