All four VCT China teams—TYLOO, Xi Lai Gaming (XLG), EDward Gaming (EDG) and JD Gaming (JDG)—were eliminated in the group stage of VALORANT Champions Shanghai and finished in the shared 13th–16th placement band. Each lost its opening series, then fell in its group’s elimination match. The results do not support assigning separate final places among the four.
How the four teams were eliminated
Champions Shanghai featured 16 teams divided into four groups of four. Group play used a double-elimination format with best-of-three matches, so a first-round loss sent a team to an elimination match rather than ending its tournament. The event was scheduled for September 24–October 18, 2026; the Chinese teams’ exits were complete by October 2, while the tournament itself was still underway. THESPIKE.GG’s event overview lists the format and event dates.
| VCT China team | Opening series | Group elimination match | Final placement |
|---|---|---|---|
| TYLOO | Lost 0–2 to G2 Esports | Lost 1–2 to Team Liquid | Tied 13th–16th |
| Xi Lai Gaming (XLG) | Lost 0–2 to Karmine Corp | Lost 0–2 to Nongshim RedForce | Tied 13th–16th |
| EDward Gaming (EDG) | Lost 0–2 to LOUD | Lost 0–2 to Global Esports | Tied 13th–16th |
| JD Gaming (JDG) | Lost 0–2 to FUT Esports | Lost 1–2 to T1 | Tied 13th–16th |
The match pairings and shared placement are recorded in Insider Gaming’s October 2 report and the event results listing.
Were they out after their opening losses?
No. On September 28, after all four had lost their first series 0–2, each still had a path through the group’s elimination match. PEL Sports’ September 28 report described the teams as still alive at that point. They were eliminated only after TYLOO, XLG, EDG and JDG each lost their next series.

What the map record says
The figures reported during the event refer to different points in the bracket. On September 28, PEL Sports counted zero maps won and 42 rounds won across the four teams’ eight opening maps. After the elimination matches, Insider Gaming reported two maps won across eight best-of-three series, for a combined 2–16 map record. TYLOO and JDG each took one map in their elimination match; XLG and EDG did not win a map in either series.

“Finished last” describes the four teams collectively: all exited in the same group-stage band at the bottom of the tournament standings. The published results place them together at 13th–16th; they do not establish which of the four finished 13th, 14th, 15th or 16th. The result also records this event’s outcome, not by itself a lasting ranking of VCT China against other regions.
