Monument Valley 3 launched on Netflix Games on December 10, 2024. It is a mobile game for Android phones and tablets, iPhone, and iPad, and access through Netflix requires an active membership. Netflix says its games have no separate game fee, advertisements, or in-game purchases; “included with Netflix” does not mean the game is available without a subscription.
What happened on December 10?
Netflix released Monument Valley 3 on its mobile-games service on December 10, 2024, describing the Netflix release as exclusive to members. The date is a past launch date, not an upcoming release. Netflix had announced the game and opened pre-registration earlier in 2024. Before the third game arrived, the original Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2 had also joined Netflix Games, giving members access to the trilogy through the service at the time. Netflix’s launch announcement and its Gamescom announcement confirm the date and release context.
The Netflix release is a downloadable mobile game, not a game streamed through the TV app. This article covers that Netflix edition; any other platform edition has separate availability and terms.
What kind of game is it?
Developed by ustwo games, Monument Valley 3 is a puzzle-adventure starring Noor, an apprentice lightkeeper. As the world’s light fades and rising water threatens Noor’s community, she searches for a new source of power and helps guide the village toward a new home. The story is told through exploration and the environment rather than action combat.

Puzzles build on the series’ optical-illusion style: players rotate or otherwise manipulate architecture to change perspective, reveal paths, and move through impossible-looking spaces. The appeal is visual design, spatial problem-solving, and environmental storytelling. The Google Play listing describes Noor’s story and the game’s puzzle approach.
It is a new third entry, not a remaster of the earlier games. The first follows Ida, the second follows Ro and her daughter, and the third introduces Noor and a different community and setting.

Where can you play the Netflix version?
Netflix’s release is for Android phones and tablets, iPhone, and iPad. You download it from Google Play or Apple’s App Store and play on the mobile device. Netflix says its mobile games are not playable on TVs; its TV and browser games are separate programs. The Netflix edition should not be assumed to work on a desktop browser or console. How much does it cost?
There is no separate purchase price for Monument Valley 3 through Netflix Games, but an active Netflix membership is required. Netflix says its games have no additional game fees, ads, or in-app purchases. That makes the game included with a paid subscription, not free to play without one. You authenticate with your Netflix account rather than creating a separate game account. Netflix’s account and profile guidance explains the access requirement.

Because access is subscription-linked, installing the app does not give you permanent ownership independent of Netflix. If your membership ends, do not count on being able to continue playing through the Netflix version; the app may remain installed, but play access depends on an active membership and the same account and profile. Netflix’s catalog can also change by country or over time.
How to download and start playing
Android phone or tablet
- Open the Netflix app and find the Mobile Games row or the Games shortcut.
- Select Monument Valley 3 and tap Get Game. Netflix will open the Google Play Store.
- Tap Install, then open the game when the download finishes.
- Sign in with Netflix if prompted and choose the Netflix profile you want to use for the game.
You can also search Google Play for Monument Valley 3 NETFLIX, install it, and sign in when prompted.

iPhone or iPad
- Open Netflix and scroll to the Mobile Games row.
- Select Monument Valley 3 and tap Get Game or Play Game.
- In the App Store banner, tap Get or the download icon.
- Open the installed game, sign in if requested, and select a Netflix profile.
You can also search for the title directly in the App Store. Netflix’s mobile-games installation guide covers both download paths.

- Membership: An active Netflix membership and the Netflix account used to sign in.
- Compatible mobile device: An Android phone or tablet, iPhone, or iPad. Netflix’s broad recommendations for its games are Android 9 or later, iOS 17 or later, and iPadOS 17 or later. Those are general recommendations, not a confirmed minimum for this specific title; check the game’s current store listing for the device-specific compatibility decision. Netflix’s troubleshooting material gives lower general thresholds for some games, but individual titles can require newer software. Netflix’s device recommendations provide its current broad guidance.
- Storage and connection: You need enough free storage to install the game and an internet connection for download and installation.
- Eligible profile: The game may not appear if the selected profile’s maturity setting does not allow it.
The available Netflix guidance confirms the internet requirement for downloading and installing, but does not establish a definitive offline-play policy for Monument Valley 3. Check the game’s current support information before relying on it for travel or places without connectivity.

How do Netflix profiles and saves work?
Progress is associated with the Netflix profile selected when you play. Netflix says games may use cloud or local saves depending on the title and configuration. If progress seems missing, first check that you opened the same profile used previously. Deleting a Netflix profile permanently deletes progress associated with it, so take care before removing a family member’s profile. Progress from an earlier release of a game cannot be transferred to its Netflix version, according to Netflix’s mobile-games guidance.
If the game does not appear or install
- Check where you are looking: Use Netflix’s mobile app or the mobile-games section, not the TV app.
- Update the apps and device: Install available updates for Netflix and your mobile operating system, then check the game’s store listing for compatibility.
- Check the selected profile: Confirm you are signed into the right Netflix account and profile, and that its maturity setting allows the game.
- Try the app store directly: Search Google Play or the App Store for the title. A listing may be unavailable if the device does not meet the game’s requirements.
- Confirm account access: A Netflix sign-in prompt is expected. You need an active membership and should select the profile that holds your save.
Netflix’s missing-games troubleshooting page covers compatibility, profile settings, and availability issues. If the title is absent despite an updated compatible device and eligible profile, availability may differ by country or account.
Who is the Netflix release a good fit for?
It is an easy fit for an existing Netflix member who enjoys atmospheric, touch-based puzzle games and wants Noor’s new story alongside the earlier entries available through Netflix’s catalog. Someone considering a membership only for this game should weigh the subscription against their interest in Netflix’s other content and games: the Netflix edition does not provide subscription-independent ownership. Players looking for a TV, desktop-browser, or console version should verify that platform’s separate release and terms rather than treating the Netflix mobile launch as covering it.
