The safest way to install Call of Duty: Mobile on Android is through Google Play. Activision lists Android 6.0 or later and at least 2 GB of RAM as minimum requirements, but that does not make the game compatible with every Android phone. The official Android listing is Call of Duty®: Mobile, published by Activision Publishing, Inc. The official sources identified here do not offer a universal publisher-hosted APK download.
Check your phone before installing
Activision’s current support page lists these minimum requirements for Call of Duty: Mobile:
- Android 6.0 or later.
- At least 2 GB of RAM.
These are minimum eligibility requirements, not a promise of smooth play. Google Play may still mark a phone incompatible because of its processor or graphics hardware, device certification, region, or other compatibility checks. A phone that meets the minimum can still experience slow loading, stuttering, crashes, or limited graphics options.
The game requires an internet connection. It also downloads optional resources such as maps and HD assets, so the initial store download is not the same as the total storage the game may eventually use. Leave ample free space, use Wi-Fi when practical, and start with only the in-game resources you want. Activision also says it does not support emulators.

Install it from Google Play
- Connect to a reliable Wi-Fi network and make sure the phone has enough free storage.
- Open the Google Play Store and search for Call of Duty Mobile.
- Open the listing named Call of Duty®: Mobile. Check that the publisher is Activision Publishing, Inc. and that the Play listing URL contains
com.activision.callofduty.shooter. - Tap Install and wait for the store installation to finish.
- Open the game, sign in or create/link an account if prompted, then let its Download Manager retrieve required files.
- Choose optional maps and resource packs in the game according to your available storage.
This is the normal official Android distribution route. It also gives you the store’s compatibility checks and update mechanism. Activision’s official game page provides additional information about the game.
Is there an official Call of Duty: Mobile APK?
The official Android source identified here is Google Play; the official sources listed in this guide do not provide a general, publisher-hosted APK link for everyone to download. Do not treat an APK mirror as an official source just because it uses the game’s name or icon.
Be especially wary of files advertised as “MOD APK,” “free CP,” “unlocked skins,” “anti-ban,” cheats, or COD Mobile Lite. These are not equivalent to the official game and can be altered, outdated, malicious, or designed to steal account credentials. Also check the title carefully: Call of Duty: Mobile is not Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.

Google recommends installing apps through Google Play and warns that apps from unknown sources can put device security, personal information, or data at risk. Google Play Protect can warn about or remove potentially harmful apps. Read Google’s guidance on installing apps on Android.
Installing a legitimate APK manually
Android can install apps from outside Google Play, but that does not mean a particular APK is authentic, compatible, complete, or supported. Use these steps only if you have an APK from a publisher source whose authenticity you can verify. Sideloading is not a reliable way to bypass a genuine device, account, or regional restriction.
- Obtain the file from the app publisher or another source whose authenticity you can independently verify. Do not use a file offering cheats, free currency, unlocked content, or account benefits.
- Open the APK in your phone’s Files or Downloads app.
- If Android blocks the installation, follow the prompt to allow the specific source app—such as your browser or file manager—to install unknown apps. Menu wording and location vary by Android version and manufacturer; newer Android versions use per-app permissions rather than one universal switch.
- Return to the APK and tap Install.
- Afterward, return to that source app’s settings and turn off its permission to install unknown apps.
- Open the game and allow only permissions it needs to function.
Some Android downloads are split packages rather than one standalone APK; an APK by itself may not contain every required component. An installation that completes also does not guarantee that the game will launch, authenticate, download resources, or update. Fix common installation and launch problems
Google Play says the phone is not compatible
- Check the Android version in your phone’s system settings and compare it with Activision’s Android 6.0 minimum.
- Check the phone’s RAM against the 2 GB minimum. Meeting both listed minimums still does not guarantee compatibility.
- Install pending Android updates, confirm there is ample free storage, and restart the phone.
- Check whether Google Play Store and Google Play Services are working and whether the device is Play Protect certified.
- If the listing remains unavailable, do not assume an APK, VPN, or account-region change will make unsupported hardware work. Availability can depend on device and region.
Download is stuck, pending, or fails
Check your connection and free storage first, then restart the phone. If the download still fails, clear the Google Play Store cache; if necessary, clear its data as well. Depending on the device, its settings path may be labelled Settings → Apps, Apps & notifications, App Manager, or Manage apps. Activision recommends checking the network, restarting, and clearing Play Store cache or data for download problems; see its installation support.

“App not installed” or “There was a problem parsing the package”
These errors can result from a damaged or incomplete download, insufficient storage, an Android version the package does not support, a CPU architecture mismatch, or a package that is only one part of a split install. An existing installation with a different signature can also conflict. Delete a corrupt download and use the official Play listing when possible; do not install random companion files to make an unknown package work.
The game downloads resources endlessly
Check that the connection is stable and not filtering the download, then confirm there is enough free storage for the selected resources. Restart the game and phone. A damaged cache or outdated or unofficial package can also prevent downloads from completing. If the problem continues, reinstall through Google Play when available.
Black screen or crash on startup
Update the game and Android, close background apps and screen overlays, restart the phone, and free available memory. If it still fails, clear the game cache. Activision’s black-screen troubleshooting guide covers these steps. A device can meet minimum requirements yet remain unsuitable for stable play.

First distinguish a missing store from a missing listing. If Google Play is installed but the game does not appear, check the device’s certification, Android version, region, and store/account status. If the phone has a manufacturer or regional app store, look for the game there only if the listing clearly identifies Activision as publisher; verify the package rather than trusting branding alone.

On a phone without Google Mobile Services, installing an APK alone may not provide the compatibility, sign-in, downloads, or updates the game needs. Availability can also differ by regional edition. Activision’s 2019 global-launch announcement excluded Mainland China, Vietnam, and Belgium at that time, but that original announcement does not establish present-day availability in every market. Check the store available in your own region. Activision says it cannot change a user’s registered Call of Duty: Mobile region; do not rely on a VPN or a region change as a guaranteed fix.
Protect your account and game progress
If you care about keeping progress, link the game to an account method it currently supports and confirm the link before uninstalling or changing devices. Guest-only play can leave progress harder to recover. Do not enter Activision or store credentials on APK download pages, and avoid modified clients, cheats, and “anti-ban” tools. Account and progress behavior should not be assumed to transfer between every account type or regional edition.
For storage and performance, download only the optional resources you need, keep free space available for updates, close unnecessary background apps, and use lower graphics settings if the phone struggles. The Play listing describes the game as free to download, with ads and in-app purchases; those purchases are not required to install it.
