Both list a 0.03ms GTG response time, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400. The key choice is resolution and screen size: the X32 X2 favors detail and a larger view, while the X27U X1 offers the same headline refresh rate at a lower resolution and smaller footprint.
What Acer announced
Acer’s March 31, 2025 announcement introduced the Predator X32 X2 and Predator X27U X1. Both use QD-OLED panels, a technology that combines quantum dots with OLED. Acer highlighted color reproduction and contrast, alongside refresh rates up to 240Hz and a stated 0.03ms GTG response time.
The X32 X2 is the 4K option; the X27U X1 is the 1440p option. Their shared 240Hz ceiling does not make them interchangeable: resolution, panel size, and the graphics hardware needed to drive games at high frame rates are important differences.

#1 Best Overall
- OLED Makes All The Difference: With a display of these mammoth-like proportions, everything must look good. The WQHD quantum dot OLED display with true 10Bit is obligated to offer stunning contrast, cinematic color. Image retention-refresh keeps the images from sticking.
- AMD FreeSync Premium Technology: Say “goodbye” to stuttering and tearing. With AMD FreeSync Premium, the monitor’s frames are synced with the graphics card’s frames, which eliminates screen tearing and provides the smoothest gaming experience.
- Fast and Furious: If you want seamless gameplay at ridiculous levels of speed, you’ve come to the right place. With an 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms (G to G) response time, your sessions will be fluid, unbroken and unmatched – with little to no ghosting.
- Brilliant Colors: With the DCI-P3 99% color gamut, Delta E<2, and HDR10, colors are practically bursting out of the screen. Enjoy the best imagery your games have to offer!
- Center of Vision: At 26.5-inches, the X27U is directly in your field of view. Considered a hallmark of eSports tournaments, this is the perfect size to gain an edge over your opponents. The addition of a ZeroFrame design also removes the bezels – giving you have even more visibly over every match and every movement your rivals make.
Which model makes more sense for gaming?
Choose the X32 X2 for 4K detail and a larger screen
At 31.5 inches, the X32 X2 provides a larger viewing area and a 3840 × 2160 resolution. That can suit games where fine detail and image clarity are priorities, as well as players who want a bigger display for single-player games or mixed gaming and desktop use. The trade-off is rendering demand: running a game at 4K and approaching 240 frames per second takes substantially more GPU performance than targeting the same refresh rate at 1440p.
Acer lists two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4. The monitor’s stated 240Hz support applies over HDMI and DisplayPort, but the actual resolution and refresh rate available depend on the source device, connection, and game settings.

Choose the X27U X1 for 1440p at up to 240Hz
The 26.5-inch X27U X1 has fewer pixels to render than its 4K sibling while retaining an up-to-240Hz refresh rate. That makes it the more practical fit for players who prioritize high frame rates in competitive games or have a smaller desk and prefer a more compact screen. Its 1440p resolution is less demanding than 4K, though reaching 240 frames per second still depends on the game and graphics hardware.
Acer also lists a DisplayPort Dynamic Refresh Rate option that can switch to 60Hz. The announcement does not explain its use cases or the exact conditions for switching, so it should not be treated as a separate high-refresh gaming mode.

Shared features and what the numbers mean
- 240Hz: A 240Hz panel can refresh up to 240 times per second. To see the benefit in a game, the system must supply sufficiently high frame rates; the monitor’s maximum refresh rate does not guarantee that performance.
- 0.03ms GTG: This is Acer’s stated gray-to-gray pixel response figure. It is not the same as input lag or a guarantee that every transition in every operating condition takes that long.
- VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400: Both models carry this certification. Acer separately lists a peak HDR brightness of 1,000 nits measured on a 3% window, so that peak should not be read as sustained brightness across the whole screen.
- FreeSync Premium Pro: Acer lists AMD’s adaptive-sync technology on both monitors, intended to help coordinate display refresh with compatible graphics output.
- Adjustable stands and multi-source viewing: Both stands support tilt, swivel, and height adjustment, and both monitors offer picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes.

The X32 X2 and X27U X1 are the QD-OLED pair announced in March 2025. Acer’s earlier May 31, 2024 announcement covered different Predator OLED models: the X32 X3, X27U F3, and X34 X5. Those names are easy to mix up, but they refer to separate products. The 2024 X32 X3, for example, was described with a 4K 240Hz mode and a 1080p 480Hz Dynamic Frequency and Resolution mode; the X27U F3 was a 1440p 480Hz model, and the X34 X5 a 3440 × 1440 240Hz model.
