The AOC C27G4H2 is a 27-inch curved 1080p VA gaming monitor with a maximum refresh rate of 200 Hz—not 144 Hz or 240 Hz. Whether it is the right buy depends on more than that number: compare resolution, panel type, the refresh rate supported by your chosen connection, your PC’s practical frame rate, and the monitor’s current local price.

Is the AOC C27G4H2 a 144Hz or 240Hz monitor?

Neither. AOC’s US product page specifies a maximum refresh rate of 200 Hz for the C27G4H2. That puts it between the common 144 Hz and 240 Hz labels, but it does not make it an exact match for either category.

Check the full model name before comparing listings. AOC’s separate C27G4H material specifies 180 Hz, while its C27G4ZH page advertises 280 Hz. Those are distinct model names, and the C27G4ZH page’s associated leaflet is headed C27G4H and lists 180 Hz, so that leaflet does not verify the ZH’s full specifications. Confirm the SKU and its own manual or product page rather than transferring figures between similar names. AOC C27G4H2 specifications, AOC C27G4H, AOC C27G4ZH

The two response figures use different measurement labels; they should not be treated as equivalent or as independently verified real-world response times. Likewise, Adaptive Sync is a listed feature, not a guarantee that every GPU, connection, and configuration will behave identically.

At the time AOC’s US page was crawled in 2026, it showed a starting price of $109.99 and an Amazon buying option. That is a time- and region-specific listing, not a dependable current price. Check the live price, seller, stock, and exact model before purchase. AOC’s US C27G4H2 page

How to compare it with 27-inch 144Hz and 240Hz monitors

A refresh-rate label tells only part of the story. Compare the actual models’ resolution, panel, supported signal by input, sync support, ergonomics, and price. The Q27G4 is a useful example of why: it is a 27-inch QHD Fast IPS monitor, not a 240 Hz alternative, and its maximum supported refresh depends on the input.

Factor AOC C27G4H2 AOC Q27G4 example What to check in a 144Hz or 240Hz alternative
Resolution and density 1920×1080; AOC lists 82 PPI at 27 inches. 2560×1440 at 27 inches. Confirm the model’s native resolution; the refresh label alone does not establish sharpness or GPU load.
Panel and shape VA, curved at 1500R. Fast IPS. Check the exact panel and whether the screen is flat or curved; these specifications do not prove which you will prefer.
Refresh by input AOC lists a 200 Hz maximum; check the product specifications for the supported signal over the port you plan to use. At 2560×1440, AOC specifies 180 Hz over DisplayPort 1.4 and 144 Hz over HDMI 2.0. Verify the resolution/refresh combination for the monitor’s port and your source device, not just the headline maximum.
Sync support AOC lists Adaptive Sync. AOC’s page says G-Sync compatible. Confirm the monitor, GPU, connection, and software configuration support the sync mode you intend to use.
Ergonomics and price AOC’s US page showed a $109.99 starting price when crawled in 2026; check current local terms. AOC lists height, swivel, pivot, and tilt adjustments. Compare the stand adjustments, warranty, and current local price for the exact SKU.

Is 200Hz enough for gaming?

The useful question is whether your PC can deliver a frame rate that makes a higher-refresh display worthwhile in the games and settings you use. A 200 Hz ceiling does not guarantee that a game will run at 200 frames per second, and the available model specifications do not establish a universal GPU requirement or a measured advantage over 144 Hz or 240 Hz.

Use your own games and hardware as the decision point: if your system often produces frame rates above 144 fps, a display capable of more than 144 Hz may let you see updates more frequently, subject to the game, settings, connection, and sync configuration. If your frame rates are usually lower, do not pay extra for a larger refresh number without considering resolution, panel, stand, and price as well.

Which should you buy?

Choose the C27G4H2 if

  • You want this particular 27-inch curved VA design and its 1080p resolution.
  • A maximum listed refresh rate of 200 Hz suits your priorities better than a 144 Hz class model, and you do not require an exact 240 Hz specification.
  • The current price and seller for the exact C27G4H2 are competitive where you live.

Consider a 27-inch 144Hz model if

  • A verified model offers a better fit on resolution, panel, ergonomics, or price than the C27G4H2.
  • You do not need a refresh ceiling above 144 Hz for your games and setup.

Consider a 27-inch 240Hz model if

  • You have a specific, verified model whose higher refresh rate is a priority for your games and hardware.
  • You have checked its native resolution and the refresh rate available over the input you will use, along with its price and other specifications.

The manufacturer sources establish product specifications, but do not provide a controlled comparison of 144 Hz, 200 Hz, and 240 Hz monitors or independent response-time and input-lag measurements. Treat the model-specific table as a way to compare verified features, not a performance ranking. AOC’s US gaming-monitor catalog shows category listings, but a category page is not a substitute for checking a particular monitor’s specifications.
