Did Inno3D Leak the GeForce RTX 5090 Launch Date? What Happened

An Inno3D livestream comment sounded like an RTX 5090 date leak, but the representative pointed to CES for the official announcement. NVIDIA later set January 30, 2025 availability.

No firm retail date was revealed in the Inno3D livestream. A representative reportedly said the RTX 5090 would arrive “in just three weeks,” then clarified that it would be officially announced at CES 2025. NVIDIA later announced the card on January 6 and set retail availability for January 30, 2025, with a $1,999 starting price.

What did the Inno3D representative say?

During a Brazilian Pichau livestream, an Inno3D representative reportedly answered that the RTX 5090 would be available “in just three weeks.” She then redirected viewers to CES, saying: “Officially, the 5090 will only be announced at CES 2025 in January.” PCGamesN reported the exchange on January 23, 2025.

The two remarks do not establish a retail date. The “three weeks” line appears to have been a slip or an ambiguous reference—possibly to pre-launch board shipments—rather than a confirmed promise that shoppers could buy the card then.

When was the RTX 5090 actually announced and released?

Date What happened
January 6, 2025 NVIDIA announced the GeForce RTX 50 Series, including the RTX 5090, at CES.
January 23, 2025 PCGamesN reported the Inno3D livestream exchange.
January 30, 2025 NVIDIA said the RTX 5090 was available. Its availability announcement gave a $1,999 starting price.

So the distinction is straightforward: CES was the official announcement, while January 30 was the stated retail availability date. NVIDIA’s January 30 launch article said RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 cards were out now.

Which Inno3D RTX 5090 models were announced?

INNO3D’s January 6 announcement listed RTX 5090 products including the GeForce RTX 5090 X3 and iCHILL FROSTBITE. The X3 announcement highlighted a large vapor chamber, protective backplate, three 98 mm scythe fan blades and a graphics-card stand. Those are manufacturer-described design features, not independent performance-test results.

The announcement alone does not establish a current retailer’s stock, price, warranty terms, card dimensions, slot thickness or factory overclock. Anyone comparing specific cards should check the exact model and current regional listing rather than assume those details from the launch announcement.

NVIDIA described the RTX 5090 as a Blackwell GPU with 92 billion transistors and more than 3,352 trillion AI operations per second (TOPS). The company also claimed up to 2x the RTX 4090’s performance in its stated workloads; that is NVIDIA’s vendor comparison, not an independent benchmark result.
