Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallStart with the preset that matches your target: Medium for 1080p/60 fps, High for 1440p/60+ fps, and Ultra for 4K/60+ fps. Those are the published PC requirement targets, each paired with DLSS, FSR, TSR, or XeSS upscaling—not guaranteed results in every scene or on every system. E-Day also requires a graphics card with hardware ray-tracing support, according to the launch requirements report.
Recommended starting settings by resolution
Use the published tier closest to your resolution and frame-rate goal, then adjust based on how your own PC performs. The listed GPU models are examples for each tier, not a promise that every card in that class will deliver identical image quality or frame rates.
| Published tier | Starting preset | Performance target | Example graphics cards | Memory and storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Medium | 1080p at 60 fps using DLSS, FSR, TSR, or XeSS | RTX 2060 or RTX 5050; RX 6600 or RX 9060 | 6 GB VRAM, 12 GB RAM, 115 GB SSD |
| Recommended | High | 1440p at 60+ fps using DLSS, FSR, TSR, or XeSS | RTX 3060 Ti or RTX 5060; RX 6700 XT or RX 9060 XT | 8 GB VRAM, 16 GB RAM, 115 GB SSD |
| Ultra | Ultra | 4K at 60+ fps using DLSS, FSR, TSR, or XeSS | RTX 5070 Ti; RX 7900 XT | 12 GB VRAM, 16 GB RAM, 115 GB SSD |
These figures come from PC Gamer’s October 1, 2026 report of The Coalition’s launch requirements. They describe target tiers, not a guarantee for every level, CPU, driver, or upscaling mode. The Coalition’s PC specifications article was published September 17, 2026, with an updated specifications image noted September 28; see The Coalition’s PC specifications and PC Gamer’s reported requirements.
Check the ray-tracing requirement before tuning
The October 1 launch-requirements report says a hardware ray-tracing-capable graphics card is required. It states that graphics cards without dedicated hardware ray-tracing support are unsupported. If your GPU lacks that capability, lowering the preset is not an established workaround for the published requirement.

The named minimum-tier examples are RTX 2060, RTX 5050, RX 6600, and RX 9060. These are examples in the reported requirements, not a complete compatibility list. Consult the requirements source for the published tiers and check your specific hardware before choosing a target.
Choose an upscaler by comparing image quality and smoothness
The PC feature announcement lists NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 with Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, NVIDIA Reflex, AMD FSR, Unreal Engine TSR, and Intel XeSS, subject to compatible hardware. The Coalition’s Xbox Wire announcement describes features intended to improve frame rates, image quality, latency, or responsiveness, but it does not establish one upscaler as best for every PC.

- QHD Resolution (2560 x 1440) has 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD for incredibly detailed pinsharp images
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadow for added depth - making every scene feel more vivid and realistic
- The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
At your chosen output resolution, compare the options available on your system. Look at image quality and frame pacing as well as the displayed frame rate; a higher number alone does not establish the better experience. NVIDIA Reflex is a latency feature, while upscaling and frame generation options depend on supported hardware and configuration. Feature details are in Xbox Wire’s PC feature announcement.
Advanced Shader Delivery is not a graphics-quality setting
Advanced Shader Delivery can supply precompiled shaders with the game to reduce loading time and first-run shader stutter on compatible systems. Xbox’s July announcement lists support on storefronts including the Microsoft Store and Xbox PC app, with wider support expected to expand over time. It is a compatibility and delivery feature, not a toggle for improving visual fidelity.

- Smooth motion: 240Hz refresh rate and fast 0.5ms response time provide crisp visuals and fluid movement with less input lag.
- Seamless gaming: FreeSync Premium and HDMI VRR eliminate tearing for smooth, responsive PC and console gameplay.
- Fast IPS: Faster 0.5ms response with excellent color accuracy across wide IPS viewing angles.
- Rich color: 99% sRGB color coverage delivers vivid, detailed imagery with strong accuracy.
- Eye comfort: TÜV Rheinland 3‑star certified display lowers blue light while preserving color quality.
How to test and refine your preset
- Set your target. Choose the resolution and frame-rate goal first: 1080p/60, 1440p/60+, or 4K/60+.
- Start at the matching preset. Use Medium, High, or Ultra respectively, provided your GPU is in the corresponding published tier and supports hardware ray tracing.
- Compare supported upscalers. Try the options available on your system at the same output resolution, then assess both image quality and frame pacing.
- Use the built-in benchmark for repeatable checks. Keep the test conditions consistent when comparing a change.
- Confirm in actual play. Check a representative level or combat sequence too, because the benchmark is not identical to gameplay.
Tom’s Hardware found that E-Day’s built-in benchmark was a reasonable approximation of gameplay but rendered somewhat differently and ran slightly slower than the gameplay scenes it tested. It is useful for comparing changes under repeatable conditions, but it should not be your only check. Its CPU testing used the High preset; in that outlet’s tests, Medium offered little extra performance, while differences between CPUs became more visible at High. Those are observations from one test setup, not universal results or a reason to keep High on every PC. See Tom’s Hardware’s performance analysis.
Use Low Core Mode only as a troubleshooting test
Low Core Mode is a System option, not a general performance recommendation. In Tom’s Hardware’s 25-CPU test pool, enabling it reduced performance across the tested processors. In a separate dual-core test, the outlet encountered streaming and pause-menu problems that the mode resolved. It did not test mobile processors or handhelds and noted that the mode may be more useful on those devices.

If you are troubleshooting a low-core-count system or handheld, compare performance and stability with the mode both on and off on your own device. Do not assume it will help a typical desktop CPU.
