The Gathering Darkness is Warmachine’s Dusk Fane of Nyrro army box, released September 29, 2026, according to its official product listing. It contains eight named model entries and is presented as a force for both Command and Skirmish games, whether you’re starting with the Fane of Nyrro or adding to an existing collection.
What is The Gathering Darkness?
Warmachine: Dusk Fane of Nyrro – The Gathering Darkness is an army box centered on Harasheth, the Gorged Darkness, a Warlock. Warmachine’s September 22, 2026 launch announcement described it as a complete force for Command and Skirmish games, and the product page lists September 29, 2026 as its release date. Warmachine’s product listing and launch announcement frame it as an entry point for new Fane of Nyrro players as well as an expansion for existing players.
What’s in the box?
The official listing names eight entries:
- Harasheth, the Gorged Darkness (Warlock)
- Vordak (Heavy Warbeast)
- Riven (Solo)
- Razorbat Alpha (Solo)
- The Forsaken (Solo)
- Styrge Hounds (Unit)
- Hollowed (Unit)
- The Merciless (Unit)
The listing describes the force as resilient and attrition-focused, with dark magic and the use of casualties as a resource among the themes highlighted in the launch announcement. These are the publisher’s descriptions, not independent tabletop test results. The models arrive unassembled and unpainted, so plan for hobby work before they are ready for the table. Is it for new players or existing Fane of Nyrro players?
Warmachine positions the box for both. New players can use it as a starting force for exploring Harasheth’s playstyle, while existing Fane of Nyrro players can add its models to a collection or build toward larger battles. The publisher says it supports Command and Skirmish play; it does not publish an independent performance comparison or win-rate evidence for the box.
