World Pets turn C.A.M.P. Pets into companions
Bethesda plans to launch World Pets in December 2026. The announced idea is to let existing C.A.M.P. Pets accompany players around Appalachia and grow more capable as they level alongside them. Bethesda says current interactions are intended to carry over; listed commands include Stay, Follow, Protect, and Kill.
The September 28 Public Test Server (PTS) article offers a more detailed but provisional look at the feature. It describes summonable Dogs, Cats, Radhogs, and Deathclaws, along with pet progression and passive abilities. Test notes also mention a pet health bar, pet-name display choices (Complete, Partial, Icon, or Hidden), and changes to progression menus and pet XP, buffs, and passives. Those are test details, not a guarantee of the final release specification.

Bethesda connects World Pets with bounty hunting in Skyline Valley. The PTS article describes The Trading Post as a hub, Marshal Canton as a bounty contact, and fights involving Super Mutants, Mothman Cultists, The Lost, and other enemies. It also outlines an environmental refresh affecting paths, vegetation, lighting, and weather. The PTS page cautions that content under test is not guaranteed to ship in the update being tested, so these details may change.
Hideouts add a tougher step between bounties and Raids
Hideouts are planned for next spring as dangerous bounty locations in abandoned parts of Appalachia. Bethesda presents them as larger contracts that follow smaller bounties, with teams encouraged to try different paths and strategies against a “head honcho.” The goal is to provide a progression step between early endgame play and Raids. As the directors’ letter puts it: “At most levels, Hideouts acts as a much-needed steppingstone between the early endgame and Raids.”

The announcement also previews a higher “Marked” difficulty with better rewards and a rival bounty hunter called the Drifter, who tries to take the rewards. Bethesda has not provided an exact launch date, encounter layouts, or reward tables in the roadmap, so those mechanics remain a high-level preview.
Raven Rock brings the map toward the Capital Wasteland
Bethesda says Fallout 76 will expand its map toward the Capital Wasteland with Raven Rock, a story set almost 200 years before Fallout 3 and involving two derelict Enclave operators. The announcement frames the narrative around destruction from 27 years earlier within the fiction; those figures describe the story’s fictional chronology, not real-world events or statistics.

Raven Rock is slated for 2027, which Bethesda describes as “next year” in the September 2026 letter. The roadmap does not give a specific date or a complete feature list, so it establishes the broad setting and premise rather than a detailed account of the expansion.
Other work Bethesda says is in progress
The directors’ letter also mentions work on seasonal events, rendering, weather, the new-player experience, and fishing, including seasonal fish. It mentions a gold Axolotl as a rumor, not as a confirmed feature. The announcement does not attach a specific release window to this broader work.

What is confirmed—and what is still a preview
The roadmap is the clearest source for Bethesda’s announced plans and broad timing. The PTS article is useful for seeing how World Pets and Skyline Valley features are being tested, but test behavior can evolve and not every PTS item is guaranteed to appear in the associated update. Until Bethesda publishes release details, treat exact mechanics, rewards, and dates beyond the announced windows as unconfirmed.
