DLSS 5 kann in den bisher getesteten Szenen deutlich Leistung kosten: PC Gamer maß in NBA 2K27 auf einer GeForce RTX 5080 bei 4K 183 FPS nativ, aber 49 FPS mit DLSS 5. Das ist ein Rückgang um rund 73 Prozent in genau diesem Test – kein allgemeingültiger Wert für jedes Spiel oder jeden PC. Der Titel verweist auf PCGH 11/2026; konkrete Inhalte der Ausgabe außer dem genannten DLSS-5-Thema sind hier nicht belegt.
Was DLSS 5 macht – und was daran neu ist
NVIDIA stellte DLSS 5 am 16. März 2026 als Echtzeit-Neural-Rendering-Modell vor. Laut Hersteller verarbeitet es Farbdaten und Bewegungsvektoren jedes Frames, um Beleuchtungs- und Materialeffekte hinzuzufügen. Die Effekte sollen an den 3D-Inhalt gebunden und von Frame zu Frame konsistent sein; NVIDIA nennt eine Verarbeitung bis zu 4K-Auflösung. Das unterscheidet DLSS 5 von einer bloßen Auflösungsskalierung: Es soll Bildmerkmale verändern beziehungsweise ergänzen. NVIDIAs Beschreibung ist eine Herstellerangabe, keine unabhängige Bewertung der Bildqualität.
Entwickler sollen Intensität, Farbkorrektur und Maskierung steuern können, um festzulegen, wo und wie DLSS 5 wirkt. NVIDIA kündigte die Veröffentlichung für den Herbst 2026 an und nannte Bethesda, CAPCOM, Hotta Studio, NetEase, NCSOFT, S-GAME, Tencent, Ubisoft und Warner Bros. Games als Unterstützer. Das ist keine vollständige aktuelle Kompatibilitätsliste.
Wie viele FPS kostet DLSS 5?
Die bislang angeführten Messungen stammen aus NBA 2K27 und zeigen, wie stark Ergebnis und Spielbarkeit von Auflösung, GPU, Szene und aktivierten Zusatzfunktionen abhängen. Die Zahlen sind Einzeltests, keine repräsentative Durchschnittsmessung über mehrere Spiele.

PC Gamer: RTX 5080 in NBA 2K27
PC Gamer testete mit Ultra-Einstellungen und Raytracing. In einem Quick-Match bei 1440p wurden folgende Werte gemessen:

Bei 4K maß PC Gamer auf derselben RTX 5080 183 FPS nativ gegenüber 49 FPS mit DLSS 5, also rund 73 Prozent weniger. Die Redaktion weist darauf hin, dass die Quick-Match-Szene nicht vollständig wiederholbar war und die Werte eher den durchschnittlichen DLSS-5-Leistungsverlust als die Gesamtleistung des Spiels abbilden könnten. Tom’s Hardware: RTX-50-Reihe in NBA 2K27
Tom’s Hardware testete die RTX-50-Reihe in einer wiederholbaren 60-Sekunden-Sequenz aus dem Karrieremodus, mit maximalen Grafikeinstellungen einschließlich Raytracing, nativen Auflösungen ohne Upscaling und ohne Multi Frame Generation. Gemessen wurde mit FrameView 2.0 bei 1080p, 1440p und 4K. Die Redaktion berichtet von einem teils deutlich über 50 Prozent liegenden Leistungsverlust auf schwächeren Karten.
Im Durchschnitt erreichte eine RTX 5060 bei 1080p mit DLSS 5 nahezu 60 FPS. Für 1440p hielt Tom’s Hardware mindestens eine RTX 5060 Ti für akzeptable Latenz und eine RTX 5070 für die verlässlichere Grundlage eines guten Spielerlebnisses. Für 4K empfahl das Testteam in diesem Spiel eine RTX 5080 oder RTX 5090; selbst eine RTX 5070 Ti könne bei DLSS 5 eine zu hohe Eingabelatenz haben, um Multi Frame Generation sinnvoll zu ergänzen. Diese Einschätzungen beziehen sich auf NBA 2K27 und die getesteten Einstellungen, nicht auf alle Spiele.

Tom’s Hardware erklärt den möglichen Kostentreiber so: Die Berechnung des DLSS-5-Ausgabebildes benötige pro Bild eine weitgehend feste Zeit, die mit der Zielauflösung skaliere. Dadurch kann sie einen großen Anteil der gesamten Frame-Zeit beanspruchen. Eine höhere Auflösung erhöht zudem den Rechenbedarf. Karten mit 8 GB VRAM könnten bei maximalen Einstellungen zusätzlich an Speichergrenzen geraten, besonders wenn Frame Generation hinzukommt. Tom’s Hardware veröffentlichte den Test am 5. September 2026.
Warum Frame Generation den Verlust nicht einfach aufhebt
Frame Generation kann die angezeigte Bildrate erhöhen, wie die 1440p-Werte von PC Gamer zeigen. Sie ist aber kein kostenloser Ausgleich für die zusätzliche Verarbeitung: Eine hohe angezeigte FPS-Zahl sagt für sich genommen nicht, ob die Eingabelatenz angenehm bleibt. Tom’s Hardware nennt gerade bei höheren Auflösungen und schwächeren Karten Latenz als möglichen Engpass; außerdem kann der VRAM-Bedarf relevant werden. Deshalb sollten Messwerte mit und ohne Upscaling oder Frame Generation nicht als direkte Gleichwerte behandelt werden.

So ordnest du einen DLSS-5-Benchmark ein
Vergleiche nur Messungen, bei denen die entscheidenden Bedingungen sichtbar sind. Für die Beurteilung von Leistung und Spielbarkeit gehören mindestens diese Angaben dazu:
- native FPS neben DLSS-5-FPS sowie 1%-Lows oder Latenz;
- Zielauflösung und GPU-Modell, einschließlich verfügbarem VRAM;
- Spielszene und Grafikeinstellungen, insbesondere Raytracing;
- ob Upscaling, Frame Generation oder Multi Frame Generation aktiv waren;
- passende Bildvergleiche, wenn es um die visuelle Wirkung geht.
Die Herstellerbeschreibung allein belegt nicht, dass ein Effekt in jedem Spiel sichtbar besser aussieht. Umgekehrt sagen die bislang genannten Messungen aus einem Spiel nicht voraus, wie teuer DLSS 5 in anderen Titeln sein wird. Eine unabhängige spielübergreifende Durchschnittszahl ist nicht belegt.
