ArkWeb lets Spider-Man swing through Batman: Arkham Knight’s Gotham by running Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Arkham Knight at the same time, then linking them with custom code. It does not combine the games into one executable or literally merge their engines. The creator describes the project as experimental, and its README documents technical requirements and several rough edges.
What ArkWeb changes
ArkWeb uses Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for Spider-Man’s movement and Batman: Arkham Knight as the Gotham host, supplying information about the city’s collision and grapple points. The two games remain separate processes connected by a cross-game bridge, according to the ArkWeb project README.
In the README’s description, a hidden Spider-Man guest instance provides the hero and camera, while Arkham Knight scans Gotham and exports collision and grapple data. A Python streamer builds collision tiles and sends them to Spider-Man’s physics world. The guest’s captured frame is then drawn into Arkham Knight’s view, while a hidden Batman puppet follows Spider-Man’s position. The README also describes converting between Unreal Engine 3’s Z-up coordinates in centimeters and Spider-Man’s Y-up coordinates in meters.
That setup explains why headlines may describe the mod as “merging” two games: it makes one game’s movement work within the other’s world. But the engines are not fused; both games continue running, coordinated through shared data and custom code. Tbreak’s October 2, 2026, report likewise describes a hidden guest game and a host game: ArkWeb mod puts Spider-Man in Arkham Knight.

What you need to run it
The ArkWeb README lists the following requirements. These are the creator’s stated requirements, not independently verified compatibility results.
- Windows 10 x64 and a PC capable of running both games concurrently. The README does not provide a minimum hardware specification.
- Steam copies of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Batman: Arkham Knight.
- Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered version 4.0630; the README says other builds refuse to hook.
- An Xbox-style controller.
- Visual Studio 2019 Build Tools and the Windows 10 SDK.
- Python 3.12 with the packages
numpy,scipy,numba,pefileandcapstonefor the build and streamer.
ArkWeb is an unofficial fan project and does not include game files. You need your own copies of both games, and the README says the project is not affiliated with Insomniac Games, Nixxes, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Rocksteady Studios or Warner Bros. Games.

Known limitations and risks
The creator labels ArkWeb experimental, saying it works end to end but remains a research project with rough edges. The README documents specific issues to expect:
- Gaps in collision: Some building collision can be hollow. Moving quickly into a district before it has loaded can also produce temporary gaps.
- Shortened zips: A blocked route can cut a zip movement short.
- Lighting mismatch: Spider-Man may look dark because his lighting follows New York’s time of day, which may not match Gotham’s appearance.
- Combat differences: Arkham Knight’s own freeflow combat takes over during fights. Pose copying is incomplete and tied to the recorded suit skeleton.
- Autosaves: Arkham Knight may autosave while Batman is being controlled as a puppet. Follow the README’s save and recovery instructions carefully.
How it differs from the older Spider-Man suit mod
There is a separate Spider-Man mod for Arkham Knight on Nexus Mods, last updated September 5, 2024. It adds Spider-Man as a suit slot for Batman; it does not run Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered alongside Arkham Knight or bring Spider-Man’s movement system into Gotham. The distinction is between a character appearance change and ArkWeb’s two-game movement bridge.
