Wie prüft man, ob ein Angebot wirklich ein historischer Tiefstpreis ist?
Ein großer Rabatt in Prozent ist kein Beleg für einen Allzeit-Tiefstpreis. SteamDB erklärt, dass Publisher Rabatte selbst festlegen und künftige Rabatte nicht verlässlich vorhersagbar sind. Öffne für jedes Spiel den Preisverlauf und vergleiche den niedrigsten historischen Preis mit dem aktuellen Preis in derselben Währung und Store-Region. Nur so lässt sich beurteilen, ob das Angebot für dein Konto tatsächlich ein Rekordtief ist.
- Suche das konkrete Spiel bei SteamDB und öffne dessen Preisverlauf.
- Wähle die passende Store-Region beziehungsweise Währung und vergleiche den aktuellen Aktionspreis mit dem Verlauf für genau diese Region.
- Prüfe, ob frühere Tiefstpreise zeitlich und preislich unter oder auf Höhe des heutigen Angebots lagen. Ein niedrigerer früherer Wert bedeutet: Der heutige Preis ist kein historischer Tiefstpreis.
- Kontrolliere den Preis im Steam-Shop, bevor du kaufst. Der PC-Gamer-Snapshot vom 2. Oktober ist weder eine Preisgarantie noch ein Ersatz für den regionalen Shoppreis.

Was bedeutet die gemeldete Auswahl von Spielen unter 5 US-Dollar?
PC Gamer berichtete, dass ein SteamDB-Filter zum Zeitpunkt seines Berichts 44.048 Spiele für höchstens 5 US-Dollar zeigte. Das ist ein dynamischer Filter-Snapshot, keine von Valve bestätigte oder dauerhaft gültige Katalogzahl. Er bezieht sich auf Dollarpreise; die Auswahl und Preise können je nach Region und Zeitpunkt abweichen. Die Zahl ist ein Hinweis auf die Breite des günstigen Angebots, aber keine Aussage über Qualität oder historische Tiefstpreise.
Warum unterscheiden sich Rabatte und Benachrichtigungen?
Die Preisnachlässe werden von den jeweiligen Publishern festgelegt. Daher nehmen nicht zwingend alle Steam-Spiele teil, und die Höhe der Rabatte kann stark variieren. Valve beschreibt in der Steamworks-Dokumentation zu saisonalen Sales, dass Spiele grundsätzlich an saisonalen Sales teilnehmen können und Rabatte von mindestens 20 Prozent automatisch eine E-Mail an Nutzer auslösen, die das Spiel auf ihrer Wunschliste haben. Eine Benachrichtigung hängt damit von der Wunschliste und der Rabattschwelle ab; sie besagt nicht, dass ein Spiel seinen persönlichen oder historischen Tiefstpreis erreicht hat.

Woran sollte man Spieleangebote außer am Preis vergleichen?
