The Dutch gambling regulator says it revoked a lottery licence obtained fraudulently in the name of football club Quick Boys. The club says it never applied and had no connection with the websites selling tickets. The Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has warned people not to use those sites or submit personal or banking details.
Why was the Quick Boys lottery licence revoked?
In a warning reported on 2 October 2026, the KSA said an unknown person posed as Quick Boys’ chairman to obtain a lottery licence in the club’s name. The licence was then used to sell tickets online. Quick Boys was not involved in the application or the ticket sites; the club was described as a victim of the identity fraud. The KSA reportedly filed a police report, but the status of any investigation has not been made public.
Which websites did the KSA identify?
The regulator named these eight domains as selling tickets under the licence:
- loterij.quickboys.nl
- loterijenqb.com
- besteloterijqb.com
- nieuweqb.com
- bestenl.com
- topnetherlands.com
- newloterij.com
- topsloterij.com
The KSA advised consumers not to enter names, addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers or bank details on the sites. It said it did not know how information submitted there might be used and warned of possible phishing or identity fraud.

What should you do if you used one of the sites?
The KSA’s reported advice for people who paid was to take these steps:
- Ask your bank whether it can reverse the payment.
- Report the matter to the police and the Netherlands’ Fraud Helpdesk (Fraudehelpdesk).
- Notify the KSA. It asked people to report incidents to help it understand the scale of the case.
If you entered personal information, watch for suspicious messages, calls, requests for money or requests for more information. Do not assume that a message is genuine merely because it refers to a lottery purchase or Quick Boys.

What has the regulator changed?
KSA licensing director Ella Seijsener said, “Consumers must be able to trust a licence from the KSA.” The regulator said it immediately tightened its checks on applicants’ identities and on domain names entered into the Kansspelwijzer, its public register of licensed operators. It also characterized the case as a new risk and said additional checks had stopped a similar attempted misuse. The KSA has reported an increase in imitation websites of legal lotteries, but has not provided figures establishing the scale of that trend.

Public reporting does not establish which precise licence category was issued, when it was granted or revoked, how long the sites operated, how many tickets were sold, or how much money was collected. It is also not clear whether the domains appeared in the Kansspelwijzer before the checks were tightened. The KSA reportedly declined to comment further while the investigation was ongoing, so there is no reliable public estimate of buyers or losses.
