Start with the travelers’ interests

Talk through the plan
Jodie’s biggest tip is direct: “My biggest tip for planning trips is to just pick up the phone.” She says, “A proper conversation clears things up so much quicker, builds trust, and saves emails clogging up your inbox.” A call is especially useful when a preference, schedule or practical detail needs clarification; the agreed plan can then be recorded in writing.

Make the itinerary understandable at a glance
An itinerary should show not just where the group is going, but how the day unfolds. GetYourGuide’s supplier guidance recommends setting out the sequence of events and main sites, what happens at each stop, the duration of activities and transfers, the transport mode, and when breaks occur. - Show activity and transfer durations alongside the transport mode.
- Mark breaks so the pace is visible, not implied.
