The Coalition estimates that Gears of War: E-Day takes over 14 hours to complete its campaign. That is a developer estimate, not an average measured from players who have finished the game.
How long is the Gears of War: E-Day campaign?
Creative director Matt Searcy told GamesRadar+ that the campaign is “longer than any campaign [The Coalition has] built” and estimated it at over 14 hours. GameSpot also reported the studio’s estimate as over 14 hours.
The figure refers to the story campaign. Xbox describes E-Day as an origin story following Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the first days of the Locust invasion, set 14 years before the original Gears of War. See Xbox Wire’s campaign announcement.
Is 14 hours an average or guaranteed finish time?
No. “Over 14 hours” is The Coalition’s estimate as reported by games outlets, not a measured average from completed player runs. The sources do not specify the difficulty, co-op arrangement, or pace of exploration behind the estimate, so an individual playthrough may take a different amount of time.

How long for 100% completion or other modes?
No separate completionist, 100-percent, or time-by-difficulty figure is established by the cited sources. The over-14-hour estimate should not be treated as a benchmark for optional collectibles, replaying the campaign, or other modes.
Has the game launched, and are player times available?
As of October 3, 2026, early access is underway for eligible players, while the general worldwide launch is scheduled for October 6. Xbox Wire gives the full launch time as 8:00 a.m. PT / 15:00 UTC. That means the developer estimate predates the general release; the available sources do not establish independent post-launch completion averages.
