Halo: Flashpoint 1.5 brings earlier FAQ and errata into the core rulebook, adds rules content previously spread across expansions, and includes a balance pass. Existing players can update digitally or choose the physical rulebook and card packs; new players can start with the Spartan Edition Starter Set.
What is Halo: Flashpoint 1.5?
Mantic describes 1.5 as a rules consolidation and balance update, not a new edition. The revised core rulebook incorporates earlier FAQ and errata, gathers keywords from expansions, and brings War Games fireteam-building rules into the main book. Mantic also says existing miniatures, terrain and accessories, and most cards remain unchanged. See Mantic’s 1.5 update guide for its current instructions.
The balance pass means some cards have been updated, but the official pages cited here do not list every change or provide before-and-after values. They also do not establish that every card changed. For a specific unit’s current rules or points, consult Mantic’s updated Halo: Flashpoint Index Web App rather than relying on an older card.
Choose the update route that fits your collection

The update deck is not presented as a replacement for every card in an existing collection: it contains the cards that were updated. If you are unsure whether a particular card needs replacing, check the current app or Mantic’s official update information before buying extra copies.

What existing players need to do
- Pick your rules format. For a physical update, use the Rulebook Pack; for digital rules, Mantic says to download a purchased PDF again to get its updated version. The Index Web App is also updated to 1.5.
- Decide whether you need revised cards. The Unit Card Update Pack supplies one of each updated card. Consider additional packs only if you use duplicate copies of affected units.
- Check current unit information. Use the official app or update guide for present rules and points, especially before a game using older cards.
Mantic’s earlier overview says the latest rules and points are available online, while most cards and existing components remain usable. The update is therefore a route to the consolidated rules and affected card revisions, not a requirement to replace an entire collection.

Mantic presents the Spartan Edition Starter Set as a complete two-player starting point. Its FAQ also addresses whether players can play immediately and whether glue or paints are needed; check the current product information for the specific contents and any assembly or hobby requirements rather than assuming those details from the set name alone.

Mantic gives a typical game duration of around one hour. That is the publisher’s estimate, not an independently measured result, and actual sessions can vary with players and familiarity with the rules.
