The posts prompted safety concerns, but the available reporting does not confirm that anyone made or drank the drinks or was injured.
What happened with the Love and Deepspace cocktail recipes?
According to Dexerto’s October 2, 2026 report, the official account shared character-themed drink ingredient lists on September 29 as part of an in-game event. One list included flame lily; another included datura. Readers criticized the posts because real plants were presented as cocktail ingredients, and an X Community Note was attached, Dexerto reported.
The next day, the account posted this safety clarification, reproduced by Dexerto: “Safety Notice: All drinks shown are fictional and for in-game purposes only. Do not attempt to recreate or consume them in reality.”
The notice warned against recreating or consuming the drinks; it should not be described as an apology. Dexerto’s report establishes that the posts and warning appeared, but does not establish that anyone prepared or consumed a drink or suffered an injury. That is a limit of the available reporting, not proof that no exposure occurred.

Why are flame lily and datura dangerous?
Flame lily
Flame lily is the common name used for Gloriosa superba in the medical literature. A peer-reviewed overview identifies the plant as poisonous and describes serious effects after ingestion. A 2019 BMJ Case Reports case report states that all parts are toxic, particularly the tuberous rhizomes, and documents one fatal ingestion.
That case demonstrates the potential severity of ingestion; it does not establish the risk from an unspecified amount depicted as a garnish in a fictional post. The practical point is straightforward: flame lily is not an edible garnish.

Datura
The CDC describes datura poisoning as anticholinergic toxicity. Its 2003 report says symptoms commonly begin within about an hour after ingestion and may persist for 24–48 hours in the setting it discusses. This is general toxicology information, not evidence that a player encountered datura through the game posts.
What should readers do if someone may have ingested either plant?
If someone may actually have swallowed either plant, contact your local poison center or emergency service promptly. Do not rely on an online fictional recipe or attempt a home remedy. The toxicology references describe hazards from ingestion; they do not establish any real-world exposure connected to the Love and Deepspace posts.

What is known—and not known—about the incident?
- Reported: The official account posted fictional drink ingredient lists on September 29, 2026, including flame lily and datura, and issued a warning on September 30, according to Dexerto.
- Established independently in medical sources: Ingestion of the named plants can pose serious toxicological hazards.

Because the original social posts were not independently reviewed for Dexerto’s report, the incident timeline and ingredient details here are attributed to that secondary reporting.
