You can keep a prerecorded fireplace video live on YouTube without leaving a computer running: upload a video or playlist to a cloud streaming service, connect it to your YouTube channel, set playback to loop, and start the broadcast. The cloud service runs the encoder and sends the stream; your home computer and internet connection are no longer in the broadcast path once it is running.
How the cloud workflow works
YouTube receives a normal encoder feed. Instead of running the encoder on your own computer, the cloud service stores or plays your prepared media and streams it to YouTube remotely. Depending on the service, you may authorize your YouTube channel or enter the server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance explains where those ingest details are used.
This approach fits a channel built around prepared fireplace footage and ambient audio. It is less suited to a show that depends on a live camera, real-time interaction, or frequent scene changes; those workflows may need a locally operated encoder.

Prepare media you have permission to broadcast
Choose a video or playlist and check the rights to every element: footage, music, sound effects, and other included material. Confirm the cloud service accepts your file formats and supports the looping behavior you need. Keep copies of licenses or permissions.

Create the YouTube stream
In YouTube Studio, create a live stream and locate its server URL and stream key if your cloud service uses a manual encoder connection. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to broadcast to your stream. Enter it only in the provider’s intended secure settings. If the provider offers YouTube authorization instead, follow its channel-connection flow.

Upload media and configure playback
Upload the fireplace video or create a playlist in the cloud service. Set the playlist to repeat continuously, check the order of clips, and review any options for transitions or playback behavior. Follow the provider’s own file-format and upload instructions; cloud services differ in which media they accept and whether they prepare incompatible files.

Connect and start the broadcast
For manual setup, paste YouTube’s server URL and stream key into the cloud encoder, save the destination, then start the stream in the service. YouTube says that starting the encoder creates the watch page and begins the stream. For an authorization-based setup, use the provider’s broadcast controls to select the connected channel and go live.

Verify the live result
Open the YouTube watch page and confirm that video and audio are playing as intended. Check the cloud service’s status and YouTube Studio’s live controls for errors before relying on the stream unattended. Confirm separately how the service handles reconnects, broadcast rotation, and completed-stream archives.

Plan for YouTube’s archive limit
YouTube automatically archives livestreams that are under 12 hours, according to its live encoder guidance. A continuous 24/7 broadcast exceeds that boundary, so do not assume it will produce one complete, indefinitely available archive. Check current YouTube Studio controls and the service’s handling of broadcast rotation and archives. Some providers describe different archive behavior for authorized connections and manual stream-key setups, so confirm the behavior for your chosen workflow.

YouTube’s livestream terms make the creator responsible for having the necessary rights to the live content, including applicable music rights, and for complying with relevant laws. A cloud service transports and loops your media; it does not grant permission to use it.

YouTube scans livestreams for third-party content. A match can result in a placeholder image, warning, temporary interruption, or termination. YouTube also notes that a licensed stream can still be interrupted if the channel has not been allowlisted by the rights owner in Content ID. See YouTube’s Content ID guidance for live streams. If a rights holder requires allowlisting, arrange it before you go live and retain documentation of your license.

- Does it support YouTube and the connection method you prefer: channel authorization or a manual stream key?
- Will it accept your source files, and can you build and loop the playlist you need?
