Team T.N.T won the first Mask King Showdown at a The Vermilion Mask stage during Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair (KYOMAF) 2026, according to an October 1 event report. The September 20 program paired three cast members with the anime’s promotional ambassadors for a mask-identification quiz, alongside discussion of the characters and manga.
What happened at the KYOMAF stage?
The Outerhaven reported that the September 20, 2026 stage brought together Taihi Kimura, who voices Peru; Yuuki Yamamoto, who voices Sonarue; Junya Enoki, who voices Zent; and T.N.T, the anime’s promotional ambassadors. The program included discussion of the characters and manga, handmade masks by special-effects makeup artist Kanako Kitaochi, and video messages from the artists behind the opening and ending themes. The Outerhaven’s event report is the source for these stage details; the official sites corroborate the series background and T.N.T’s ambassador role, but do not provide an event-results account.
How did the Mask King Showdown work?
The quiz set a voice-actor team against Team T.N.T. Players identified masks displayed on screen. The report says the teams were tied after the first two questions, then Team T.N.T won as the difficulty increased. The group received the first Mask King title and an assortment of Kyoto sweets. The report calls it the “1st” Mask King Showdown; it does not establish that this is a recurring competition or a wider official game release.
What did the cast say about their characters?
The conversation connected the cast’s roles to the story’s tragic premise. The official English series site describes Peru as an apprentice to legendary mask maker Gaston Roux. Controlled by the Mask of the Warrior God, Peru unintentionally kills his friends and master, then sets out to destroy the masks and confront the consequences.

What is T.N.T’s connection to the series?
The official Japanese ambassador announcement identifies T.N.T as the anime’s promotional ambassadors. At the event, group member Yuya Tegoshi reportedly said they were given manga volumes 1 through 9 and that he read about six during his time in the green room. That anecdote points to the manga as a way to explore the story, but does not establish an English edition or current retailer availability.
When does the anime premiere?
Release schedules are time- and territory-sensitive. The official Japanese site listed an October 10, 2026 television start, with a Saturday 5:30 p.m. slot on the Yomiuri TV/Nippon TV network, subject to regional exceptions. Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation’s September 10 announcement said the series would premiere in October on Crunchyroll.
