For October 1, 2026, the clearest confirmed picks are a Freeform series premiere and a Prime Video renewal announcement—not a new season premiere. Coven Academy premieres on Freeform that day, while its full season arrives on Disney+ and Hulu on October 2. Disney+ also lists October 1 viewing picks, and Netflix’s October schedule has been reported by Tom’s Guide, but those listings should be checked against the services’ live catalogs.

What’s new on October 1: the confirmed distinctions
Coven Academy: Freeform premiere October 1, streaming October 2
Disney’s Halloween schedule separates the broadcast debut from streaming availability: Coven Academy premieres on Freeform on October 1, while its full season arrives on Disney+ and Hulu the following day. If you are looking specifically for a streaming release on October 1, this is not one of the confirmed October 1 arrivals. Disney’s schedule does not establish a territory, so check your local listings and service catalog. See Disney’s Freeform Halloween schedule.
Neagley: a renewal announcement, not a new episode
Paramount Press Express reported on October 1 that Prime Video renewed the action series starring Maria Sten for a second season. The announcement confirms a renewal; it does not give a season-two premiere date or establish that new episodes were released that day. See Paramount Press Express.
Streaming-service listings to verify
Disney+
Disney+’s official What to Watch page surfaced October 1 entries, but it is a dynamic discovery listing rather than a fixed release announcement. Confirm the individual title and its availability in your territory on the Disney+ What to Watch page.

Netflix
Tom’s Guide’s September 26, 2026 roundup included East of Eden among titles for October 1 and summarized Netflix’s October schedule. Because that is secondary reporting, use it as a lead rather than definitive confirmation; check Netflix’s own current slate and your local catalog. Read Tom’s Guide’s Netflix October roundup.

“New on October 1” can mean different things: a first broadcast, a streaming arrival, a catalog listing, or even a news announcement about a future season. The distinction matters here: Coven Academy has a Freeform premiere on October 1 but a streaming date of October 2, while Neagley was renewed rather than premiered. Streaming catalogs and rights can vary by country, and a service’s discovery page may change, so check the relevant service or local schedule before planning a watch.
