Fortnitemares 2026 adds the Bonerattler SMG and Freddy’s Nightmare, brings back several weapons and items, and makes a handful of explicit vault changes. The list below separates the shared event announcements from Loot Hacks and Blitz Royale’s distinct rotation: Epic says Ranked and Competitive will receive only a portion of the event’s vaults and unvaults, so the full list is not a promise that every item appears in every playlist.
Epic announced the event on October 1, 2026, and says it runs until November 1. This guide reflects Epic’s announcements available on October 3, 2026; the updated Nitemare Island Reload map was still scheduled for October 8 at that point.
What is new in the Fortnitemares 2026 loot pool?
Epic identifies the Bonerattler SMG as new. Its event announcement says it reveals enemies through walls. Freddy’s Nightmare is another new event item, but it has a specific acquisition method rather than being described as ordinary floor loot: defeat Freddy Krueger at the Nightmare Neighborhood POI to obtain it. Epic says it lets you teleport into range and slash at an opponent. Epic’s event overview and its detailed Fortnitemares post announce these items.
| Item | Announced status | Effect or context Epic specifies |
|---|---|---|
| Bonerattler SMG | New | Reveals enemies through walls. |
| Freddy’s Nightmare | New event item | Earned by defeating Freddy Krueger at Nightmare Neighborhood; lets the player teleport into range and slash. |
Which weapons and items are returning?
Epic’s “New & Returning Weapons” list names four returning items. The announcement establishes that they are returning for the event, but does not provide damage, DPS, range, or spawn-rate figures.

What has been unvaulted or vaulted?
Epic’s explicit general loot-pool update says Quack Snacks are unvaulted. It says the Drum Gun, Ranger Assault Rifle, and Tetris Rift are vaulted. These are the vault changes named in the detailed event post; it does not give item-by-item spawn rates or state that the changes apply identically to every mode.
| Change | Items |
|---|---|
| Unvaulted | Quack Snacks |
| Vaulted | Drum Gun; Ranger Assault Rifle; Tetris Rift |
The new Snack-O’-Lantern Gizmo is also listed among the general loot-pool updates. Throw it and break it open to spill Exotic Candy.

Loot Hacks are a separate way to customize your loot pool
Epic says players can unlock Loot Hacks to customize their loot pool. It lists the following Loot Hack options; treat them as player-unlocked customization, not as a guarantee that every item is universally available in the regular event pool.
- Last Call
- Infantry Rifle
- Pumpkin Launcher
- Light Machine Gun
- Slap Candy Corn
- Loot Hacker Sprite variants
Last Call also has a specific role in Blitz Royale: Epic describes it as a knife associated with becoming Ghost Face. Eliminating the player wielding it takes both the weapon and the role.

Blitz Royale has its own Fortnitemares rotation
Do not use the Blitz list as a definitive Battle Royale spawn list. Epic’s separate v42.30 Blitz Update Notes describe a mode-specific rotation, including which items can appear in different Blitz sources.
| Blitz source or context | Items Epic names |
|---|---|
| Fortnitemares Blitz rotation | Bonerattler SMG, Chainsaw, Freddy’s Nightmare, Infantry Rifle, Last Call, Makeshift Revolver, Myst Form, Pump Shotgun, Pumpkin Launcher, Wood Stake Shotgun, Striker Assault Rifle, Tactical Submachine Gun, Candy Corn, Hop Drops, and Peppermints. |
| Battle Bus loadouts | Wood Stake Shotgun, Pump Shotgun, Makeshift Revolver, Striker Assault Rifle, and either the Bonerattler SMG or Tactical Submachine Gun; Hop Drops and Peppermints are also listed. |
| Gold Chests | May contain Chainsaw, Myst Form, Last Call, and Freddy’s Nightmare, alongside seasonal weapons and candy. |
| Gold Llamas and Gold Supply Drops | Can contain Pumpkin Launcher and higher-rarity seasonal weapons. |

Reload update scheduled for October 8
Epic’s October 1 announcement and detailed event post scheduled an updated Nitemare Island Reload map for October 8. The announced update includes horror weapons and siphon loot, with Stranger Things and Squid Grounds joining the map rotation. As of October 3, this was a future update, not a confirmed live feature.

Ranked and Competitive are not promised the full event pool
Epic says Ranked and Competitive will receive only “a portion” of Fortnitemares vaults and unvaults. Its announcement does not identify a complete item-by-item Ranked or Competitive list, so the shared event announcements should not be read as confirmation that all those items are enabled in those playlists.

The official posts establish named items, announced vault changes, some effects, and select mode-specific acquisition contexts. They do not publish a complete spawn list for every playlist, item damage or DPS comparisons, spawn odds, or an item-by-item end date. Availability can also change with later patches; check the relevant mode in game for the live pool.
