What Pokémon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire Plus adds
The feature details available for version 1.1.5 come from a September 2026 post in r/PokemonROMhacks by user CallumSmilee, rather than an accessible project changelog. The post lists these additions:
- 45 new Pokémon, according to the release-post author.
- Shiny Pokémon, adding shiny encounters to the reported feature set.
- Two bonus stages and a new mode.
- More balls and a PokéNav progress tracker.
- Board switching mid-game, letting players change boards during a session.
- e-Reader Pokémon through regular play, according to the post.
These are community-reported features, not details independently confirmed against project documentation. The post says the hack had been available for about a month before it was added to Hackdex; that describes its release history, not the date it first appeared in the directory.
What is known about shiny hunting, boss fights and the expanded Pokédex?
Shiny Pokémon and 45 additional Pokémon are explicitly named in the release post. However, it does not specify shiny encounter odds, how players trigger encounters, or which Pokémon make up the additional 45.

The headline framing mentions boss fights and an extended Pokédex, but the accessible feature list does not establish how boss fights work or define the Pokédex’s full contents. Treat those details as unverified unless project documentation confirms them.
How it relates to the original GBA game
The Plus project modifies Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, a Game Boy Advance game. Bulbapedia’s entry for the original describes Pokédex and high-score sharing via a Game Boy Advance Game Link cable; that is background about the base game, not evidence about Plus’s new systems. Compatible Game Boy Advance hardware is one way to play the original game, but buying a console or retail cartridge does not include the Plus modification. The accessible sources do not establish the hack’s patch format, required base-ROM version, or currently supported emulators and hardware. Consult the project’s documentation for those practical requirements before attempting to install or play it.

It provides a useful feature overview, but it is not a substitute for a project changelog: the linked Hackdex page could not be accessed, and the Retro Dodo page listing the matching headline and an October 1, 2026 update date was likewise unavailable as a source for feature details. The post’s claims should therefore remain attributed to its author.
