What BrickStation is—and what it is not
The BrickBoy creators describe BrickStation as a plug-and-play electronic add-on for LEGO PlayStation set 72306. It is not a gaming feature built into the LEGO set: the set is a display model, while BrickStation is a third-party modification designed to fit into it. The BrickStation project page presents it as an add-on: BrickStation project page.
According to The Brick Post, the planned kit replaces one of the model’s side trays and is intended to do so reversibly, without permanent changes to the LEGO build. The tray is part of the display model, so fitting the electronics means giving up that particular display feature. That report also says the LEGO set itself is not included. The Brick Post’s report
How the planned gaming setup is reported to work
Retro Dodo and The Brick Post describe custom Raspberry Pi-based hardware inside the add-on. The reported design sends video to a television over HDMI and uses an actuator to press the LEGO model’s POWER button. A green LED, speaker and vibration motor are also described. The Brick Post reports compatibility with Bluetooth or USB controllers and local multiplayer, but a definitive controller compatibility list has not been published in the material available. Does BrickStation play PS1 discs?
No direct disc reading is described. Retro Dodo says a CD can be displayed in the LEGO model, but BrickStation does not read it. Importing discs to local storage is mentioned only as a possible future accessory, not a feature available or confirmed for the planned kit. Retro Dodo’s report

The available reporting does not establish BrickStation’s emulation software, supported game formats, or exact method for loading games. The Brick Post says commercial games and Sony BIOS are not included, so prospective buyers should not assume the kit supplies either. The Brick Post’s report
What the LEGO PlayStation set includes
LEGO set 72306 is a 1,911-piece model for ages 18 and up. It recreates the original console and controller, with functional Open and Power buttons, a plug-in controller, and hidden buildable dioramas inspired by Gran Turismo and Ape Escape. LEGO says Insiders early access began October 1, 2026, with general availability through LEGO.com and LEGO Stores from October 4. Listed RRPs are $179.99 in the United States, €159.99 in Europe and £139.99 in the United Kingdom. Sony’s PlayStation Blog gives additional regional detail: direct.playstation.com sales were scheduled from October 1 in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Portugal. BrickStation price, launch and what remains unconfirmed
On October 3, 2026, the accessible BrickStation pre-launch page did not establish a final price, reward tiers, shipping terms or a firm campaign start date. The linked Kickstarter page did not expose readable terms. There is therefore no confirmed BrickStation price or launch date to compare with the LEGO set’s published RRP. Should you wait for BrickStation?
If you want a LEGO PlayStation display model, set 72306 is a separate purchase with official specifications and published regional pricing. If you want to play games through the model, BrickStation is an intriguing announced add-on, but it is not yet a fully specified, independently tested product in the reporting available as of October 3, 2026.
