Israeli airlines announced one-way flights to bring home passengers stranded in the UAE after FlyDubai suspended service to Israel following an incident aboard Flight FZ1073. The plans changed quickly: El Al canceled its initially announced flights after landing permits were revoked, while Arkia and Israir reported different stages of approval. By October 3, 2026, Anadolu Agency reported that an Arkia flight had departed Dubai carrying Israeli passengers. Schedules and availability are time-sensitive; travelers should confirm instructions directly with their airline.
What happened to the repatriation flights?
The flights were planned as one-way repatriation operations: aircraft would fly from Tel Aviv to Dubai without passengers, then return with Israelis who had been booked on FlyDubai or on Emirates itineraries connecting through FlyDubai. An October 1 report described the airlines’ initial plans; it did not mean those flights were guaranteed to operate.
On October 2, The Times of Israel reported that El Al canceled its two planned Friday flights after landing permits were revoked. Arkia said it had the necessary approvals and intended to fly, while Israir said it had Dubai airport approval but was waiting for additional confirmation. Anadolu Agency reported on October 3 that an Arkia flight had departed Dubai with stranded Israeli passengers. The Times of Israel also reported an evening departure on October 2; because the reports differ in date labeling, the departure date should not be stated more precisely without a verified flight record.
What fares and schedules were announced?
The October 1 announcement reported these proposed fares. They are historical announced prices, not current offers or confirmation of seats:

|---|---|---|
| El Al | $249 | The reported fare included one carry-on item. El Al later canceled its two planned flights after landing permits were revoked. |
| Arkia | $279 | Announced price; actual operation depended on approvals. A departure was reported by October 3. |
| Israir | $299 | Announced price; the airline said it had Dubai airport approval but was awaiting further confirmation on October 2. |
The initial report also included proposed schedules, but subsequent changes to permissions and operations mean those should not be treated as current departure information. Contact the airline for any live schedule, fare, baggage allowance, eligibility rules, or seat availability.
What should passengers with FlyDubai or Emirates bookings do?
The initial report said the repatriation plan covered Israelis booked directly on FlyDubai and some travelers on Emirates itineraries with FlyDubai connections through Dubai. It also reported that some affected travelers could seek rebooking through alternate European or regional hubs. That is not a universal entitlement: rebooking, refund, and eligibility terms depend on the ticket and carrier.

A Ziontours Jerusalem executive estimated that at least 1,700 Israelis were stranded for each day the suspension continued, as quoted by The Times of Israel on October 1. That was a travel executive’s estimate, not an official passenger count.
