What the pregame report expected
A CBS Sports/RotoWire report published before the October 2 game said Greer was set to play after dealing with an upper-body injury during the preseason. It expected him to skate at even strength with Leo Carlsson and Cutter Gauthier, while noting that his spot on that line was uncertain. What happened against Vegas
Anaheim beat the Golden Knights 4-3 after taking a 4-0 lead. Vegas scored three times in the third period, but the Ducks held on. Greer recorded an assist on Carlsson’s second-period goal. Greer’s shot was stopped, and Carlsson scored on the rebound into an open net. What this update does—and does not—establish
Greer did return and contribute in Anaheim’s opener. The reported line combination remains a pregame expectation; this game report does not establish that Greer will continue alongside Carlsson and Gauthier. Nor does his appearance on October 2 establish his availability for later games.
