RotoWire, attributing its 2 October 2026 update to Football London, says he supplied a couple of assists for Mohammed Kudus in small-sided games. A possible matchday-squad return later in October was described only as a possibility if he avoids further setbacks.
What the latest Kulusevski update says
The 2 October report says Kulusevski has joined full training and impressed in the week’s sessions, including by assisting Kudus in small-sided training games. Those are observations attributed by RotoWire to Football London; they are not an official Tottenham confirmation of his current status.
Training participation is a positive step, but it is not the same as being match-fit, being selected, or playing in a competitive match. The report’s suggestion that he could make a matchday squad later in October is conditional on him avoiding further setbacks. No confirmed competitive return date has been established.
How his recovery has progressed
- January 2026: Tottenham quoted then-head coach Thomas Frank describing the knee injury as complicated. Frank said the priority was to remove the pain before judging when Kulusevski could return to the grass. The club also reported an injection 10 days before that update and a three-to-four-week reassessment window; that was an expectation at the time, not a current forecast. Tottenham’s 8 January update includes his comments.
- 5 August 2026: Tottenham said Kulusevski was rehabilitating after a right patella injury sustained in a May 2025 Premier League match against Crystal Palace. The club said he underwent a procedure on 14 May 2025 and described rehabilitation work that included running and ball work, with a return targeted at some point during the 2026/27 campaign. The club’s recovery gallery provides that account.
- 21 August 2026: Head coach Roberto De Zerbi said, “He’s working, not with the group, but with the individual coach.” That was his description of Kulusevski’s status on that date, not an update on the later October sessions. Tottenham’s team-news update has the statement.
- 18 September 2026: The Independent reported that De Zerbi had confirmed Kulusevski’s return to training after a lengthy layoff. This secondary report predates the October account of full training. The Independent’s report covers that update.
- 2 October 2026: RotoWire, citing Football London, reported full training and the sharp displays in small-sided games. Its later-October squad possibility remains conditional, not a confirmed selection or return date.
What is confirmed—and what is not
The official Tottenham material cited here documents earlier rehabilitation and individual work. The newest claim of full training and sharp sessions comes from secondary reporting, rather than a club update located for this article. The August club account specifically describes a right-patella injury from May 2025; another August club page says he had been out with a knee injury since April 2024. Those dates are not reconciled in the available accounts, so the May 2025 date should be understood as the event described for the patella injury, not as proof of one uninterrupted absence beginning then or earlier.
