What happened to Mason Graham?
Graham was injured during the Browns’ Week 4 game against the Steelers on October 1 and was ruled out for the rest of the game, according to the Browns’ game status report. The team’s subsequent MRI update identified an MCL sprain and an ankle sprain.
Why was Graham using crutches?
After the game, Graham was seen leaving the Cleveland locker room on crutches and wearing a brace on his left knee. CBS Sports reported the observation, crediting Akron Beacon Journal reporter Chris Easterling (CBS Sports).
That postgame observation describes how Graham left the stadium; it does not establish the sprain’s grade, its severity, or how long he will be out.

How long will Mason Graham be out?
The Browns say their medical staff will evaluate Graham’s return on a week-to-week basis (Cleveland Browns injury update). The club has not specified a return date, confirmed his status for a particular upcoming game, or published subsequent practice participation in the cited reporting. A definite number of missed games is therefore not established.
What did the Browns say after the injury?
At an October 2 media availability, head coach Todd Monken said he did not have an update when asked about Graham’s knee. The team later published the MRI diagnosis and its week-to-week evaluation plan. In the Browns’ transcript, Monken’s answer was: “I do not.” (October 2 transcript.)

Graham’s production before the injury
In its October 2 update, the Browns reported that Graham had four sacks, 15 tackles, six tackles for loss, and five quarterback hits through the first four weeks of the 2026 season. The team said his four sacks led Cleveland and were tied for third in the league at the time that report was published (Cleveland Browns injury update).
