Not at native 4K in the published RTX 5090 test. DSOGaming recorded 34 FPS on average, with a 28 FPS minimum, at 4K and the Ludicrous preset. With DLSS 4.5 Balanced, that same test averaged 65 FPS. The short answer is therefore: native 4K/60, no; an average above 60 with upscaling, yes in this benchmark.
RTX 5090 results at 4K and Ludicrous settings
John Papadopoulos of DSOGaming ran the game’s built-in benchmark at 4K with the Ludicrous preset and RTX Mega Geometry. His October 1, 2026 report gives these RTX 5090 results:
| Mode | Minimum FPS | Average FPS |
|---|---|---|
| Native 4K, Ludicrous | 28 | 34 |
| DLSS 4.5 Quality | 49 | 56 |
| DLSS 4.5 Balanced | 57 | 65 |
| DLSS 4.5 Quality with MFG X2 | 90 | 104 generated FPS |
Source: DSOGaming’s RTX 5090 benchmark, October 1, 2026. The report also gives about 150 FPS with DLSS Quality and MFG X3, and close to 200 FPS with MFG X4; those are generated-frame results, not native rendering rates.
What the FPS figures mean
DLSS Super Resolution renders internally below the output resolution and upscales the image. Frame generation adds generated frames between conventionally rendered ones. Those techniques can make motion appear smoother, but a generated-FPS figure is not equivalent to the GPU rendering that many unique frames per second. In particular, the 104 FPS reported for Quality plus MFG X2 should not be read as 104 conventionally rendered frames per second.

What was tested—and what was not
DSOGaming disclosed a Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32GB of DDR5-6000 memory, Windows 10 64-bit, an RTX 5090, and NVIDIA Game Ready driver 617.14. The result comes from one reviewer’s built-in benchmark run, not a multi-system test or guarantee for every scene. Game and driver updates, system configuration, cooling, and exact settings can change performance.
The reviewer also found that lowering ray-traced reflections and shadows to Ultra caused visible artifacts in that test, while lowering DLSS Super Resolution quality introduced additional noise. Those are observations from this particular review, not a claim that every player will see the same result.

What RTX Mega Geometry does
NVIDIA says E-Day combines Unreal Engine 5 Nanite geometry with ray tracing. RTX Mega Geometry allows more detailed objects to appear in ray-traced scenes, improving the fidelity of ray-traced shadows and reflections and addressing missing or incomplete geometry effects. NVIDIA’s stated requirement for enabling it in this game is a GeForce RTX GPU with at least 12GB of VRAM.
NVIDIA also lists support for DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, Frame Generation, and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. Its description says RTX 50 Series can use up to 6X Frame Generation. These features offer ways to trade rendering workload and image-generation behavior for higher displayed frame rates; they do not turn a generated output-FPS number into native rendering performance. See NVIDIA’s E-Day and DLSS 4.5 overview for its feature and Mega Geometry descriptions.

Why other 4K figures may look very different
NVIDIA reports an “up to” 410 FPS result for an RTX 5090 at 4K using the Ultra preset, ray tracing, RTX Mega Geometry, and DLSS 4.5 with a fixed 6X multiplier. NVIDIA describes that as a 7.5X average multiplier over native rendering. It is a vendor result for Ultra and a different workload and method; it does not show that native 4K on Ludicrous reaches 60 FPS.
The published PC specifications also distinguish Ultra from Ludicrous. PC Gamer’s October 1 report says the Ultra target is 4K/60+ FPS with supported upscaling, listing an RTX 5070 Ti or RX 7900 XT and 12GB of VRAM; it also reports a ray-tracing-capable GPU requirement. That Ultra target is not a performance guarantee for the higher Ludicrous preset. Details are in PC Gamer’s coverage of the PC specifications.

A separate hands-on report illustrates why settings and systems matter: Tom’s Guide used an RTX 5070, Ryzen 7 9700X, and 32GB of RAM, reporting around 50 FPS at 4K High before described DLSS changes, then around 115 FPS after enabling Dynamic Frame Generation and Dynamic Upscaling Quality and raising some ray-traced settings to Ultra. That is a different system and settings mix, so it is not a direct comparison with DSOGaming’s RTX 5090/Ludicrous run. See Tom’s Guide’s hands-on report.

- For native 4K at Ludicrous, the published RTX 5090 run fell well short of 60 FPS.
- For an average above 60 in that same benchmark, DLSS 4.5 Balanced reached 65 FPS; its minimum was 57 FPS.
- DLSS Quality averaged 56 FPS without frame generation, while Quality plus MFG X2 reported 104 generated FPS. Compare these as different rendering modes, not interchangeable FPS figures.
- When comparing another benchmark, check the preset, ray-tracing settings, upscaling mode, frame-generation multiplier, whether FPS is rendered or generated, and the test system.
At the October 3, 2026 information date, E-Day’s worldwide release was scheduled for October 6, with Premium Edition Early Access beginning October 1. Xbox Wire’s announcement lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, and day-one PC Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate availability. Xbox’s product copy describes 4K resolution and up to 60 FPS across campaign and multiplayer on a compatible display; that broad platform statement is not a promise of PC performance at Ludicrous.
