End of Abyss has eight Data Shards, according to the 100% Guides walkthrough. Collect all eight, bring them to the Mainframe in Lower Levels > B3, then defeat the final boss again to get the secret ending. The walkthrough says the shards are not missable and can be collected after the main story.
End of Abyss was released on October 1, 2026, for Windows, Xbox Series X|S and PS5, according to the Epic Games Store listing and official platform pages from Xbox Wire and PlayStation. The room-by-room directions below come from the third-party 100% Guides walkthrough published September 29, 2026; they are not confirmed by an official map or developer walkthrough.
All eight Data Shard locations
1. Lower Levels > F1
In the northern hall, burn down the wall to reveal the shard.
2. Habitation Sector > F1
- At the Containment Sector Fast Travel Shuttle, use an Explosive Charge on the wall just to its left to get the Security Guard Keycard.
- Use that card on the door at the right end of the Habitation Sector corridor. Go downstairs and through the left-hand door to find the Security Chief Keycard.
- Use the Chief Keycard to open the left-hand door in the main hall, then go through the northern door to reach the shard.
3. Ventilation Tunnels > F3
- At the easternmost Factory East entrance to the Tunnels, use an Explosive Charge on the weak wall to the right.
- Continue to F2, cross the upper catwalk and pull down the ladder to F3.
- Go right and upstairs. After the ambush, take the Ventilation Maintenance Key and use it on the northern F3 door to reach the shard.
4. Factory West > F4
- In the Outer Sector, use an Explosive Charge to open the floor just outside the Maintenance safe room.
- Go down and left to find the Executive Level Access Keycard behind boxes.
- At Factory West, use the card to access the lift on F2. Ride it up; the shard is in the second room with the large table.
5. Reactor > B1
This is the longest stated route and requires the Grappling Hook. Start in Waterworks B3:

- Press the switch in the room to the left of Waterworks B3, then press the switch beside the circular structure to drain the water.
- Activate the eastern-side pump console. Leave through the exit to its left, climb down, head north and use an Explosive Charge on the blockage wall.
- Continue through the upper-right B3 door to the switch that drains the Reactor Pool. The route passes an Energy Node door and an ambush.
- At Reactor B3, climb down into the drained pool. Go left at the bottom and take the Underbelly Key from a locker.
- Use the key on the door down the short stairs outside the Reactor, on the right side of F1. The shard is inside.
6. Waterworks > B3
Find the Sewer Workshop Key on the left side of the B3 sewers, then use it to open the small room at the bottom of the sewers.
7. Containment Sector > F3
- On B1, use an Explosive Charge to open a wall.
- In the next room, pull down the ladder and take the Storage Room Key.
- Use the key on the F3 door containing the shard.
8. Lower Levels > B4
From the safe room on B3, go down the stairs into the Tunnels. About halfway through, burn down the wall to reveal the shard.

How to unlock the secret ending
- Collect all eight Data Shards using the locations above.
- Return to the Mainframe in Lower Levels > B3 and turn in the shards.
- Defeat the final boss again.
Epic’s achievement list includes “Shard Collector” for finding all Data Shards and “You Did It” for the normal ending. Those achievements confirm shard collection and the normal-ending milestone, but do not independently confirm the secret-ending steps described by 100% Guides. The Epic listing reports 43 achievements: End of Abyss achievements.
