Garfield – Escape from Monday is a newly released single-player 3D platformer that looks best suited to younger players who want a gentle adventure with familiar Garfield humor. The available review from MeriStation sees its low challenge and character jokes as appealing, but criticizes clumsy controls, repetitive collecting, and basic presentation—shortcomings that may leave experienced platformer fans wanting more. This assessment is based on that review and the game’s official and Steam descriptions, not firsthand testing.
What is Garfield – Escape from Monday?
Developed by OSome Studio and published by Microids, the game launched on September 24, 2026, for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Steam classifies the PC release as a single-player Adventure game and lists achievements, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing. Microids’ launch announcement and the Steam listing establish the release and storefront details.
A nightmare built around Garfield
After Jon feeds Garfield spinach lasagna inspired by Chef Monday, Garfield falls asleep and finds himself in a nightmare filled with vegetables and sugar-free candy. He explores strange worlds, faces or avoids enemies and challenges, and gathers lasagna in an effort to wake up and regain his taste. Jon, Odie, Arlene, and Pookie feature in the adventure; Microids identifies Nermal and Squeak among its adversaries.
Costumes, collectibles, and the advertised scope
Microids describes three costumes with different abilities: a turkey outfit for airborne movement, a surfer outfit for sliding over water, and a cowboy outfit for swinging with a lasso. The publisher advertises three worlds and more than 40 levels; those are official feature claims, not independent measures of how varied or substantial the finished game feels. Collectibles and lasagna also contribute to refurbishing Jon’s house. MeriStation describes a collectathon with many objects, while finding that the spaces can feel broad and underfilled.

Is Garfield – Escape from Monday worth playing on PC?
The available independent review is MeriStation’s September 22, 2026 review, which awards the game 6/10. Its case for playing is Garfield himself: MeriStation praises his acidic personality and fourth-wall jokes, and says changes in perspective provide some variety. Its reservations are substantial for players who value precise platforming or a strong challenge: the reviewer criticizes imprecise, clumsy controls, weak difficulty, repetitive collecting, basic visuals and environmental interaction, and unremarkable music. Read MeriStation’s review.
That makes the purchase decision largely a question of audience. If Garfield’s humor and a relaxed, accessible adventure matter more than demanding jumps or polished level design, the review suggests the game may have appeal. If responsive controls, inventive challenges, and rich presentation are priorities, MeriStation’s criticisms point to a less satisfying fit. The reviewer names SpongeBob: The Cosmic Shake and SpongeBob: Titans of the Tide as preferable alternatives in their opinion, and says Astro Bot and Donkey Kong Bananza are far beyond Garfield; these are the reviewer’s comparisons, not an independently established ranking.

Is it suitable for kids, and is it hard?
MeriStation says the game may entertain younger children, while experienced platformer players may find it underwhelming. Its review characterizes the challenge as weak, so it appears more appropriate for players seeking a low-pressure platformer than for someone looking for a demanding test. The available evidence does not establish an age rating or provide a detailed account of every scene, so caregivers should check the rating and content information shown for their region before deciding.
How long is Garfield – Escape from Monday?
MeriStation’s reviewer estimates five to six hours of exploration and fun. That is the reviewer’s estimate, not a guaranteed completion time; the available sources do not establish separate times for a main-story run or for collecting everything.
