The reported Macy’s offer is not an unconditional giveaway: shoppers need to spend at least $15 on Pokémon TCG products to receive the Mewtwo promo card, while supplies last. The promotion reportedly began October 2, 2026, but Macy’s has not announced an official online drop time. As of October 3, current Macy’s stock and online-order eligibility are unconfirmed.
How to qualify for the Mewtwo promo card
According to details attributed to The Pokémon Company International and reproduced by PokeGuardian, the offer began October 2, 2026. The stated condition is a purchase of at least $15 in Pokémon TCG products at participating U.S. retailers, with Macy’s named among them. The card is a gift with purchase, not a free giveaway with no purchase required, and the reported offer is available online and in stores while supplies last.
Retailer participation does not confirm that Macy’s still has cards, that every Macy’s location is participating, or that a particular online order will receive one. The Macy’s events page does not independently list this card promotion; its listed Pokémon Trade & Play activity-pack event is dated October 14 and is a separate activity. Check the product listing and offer terms at Macy’s before ordering.
When should you be online?
There is no verified Macy’s release time to plan around. An October 2 SheKnows report published by Yahoo said Macy’s had not officially announced a precise online time. It mentioned collectors seeing Pokémon stock appear around 6 a.m. PT and noon PT during earlier drops, but those are anecdotes about past releases—not a schedule for this promotion. Because the offer reportedly started October 2, neither time should be treated as an actionable prediction for October 3.

If you want to try online, check Macy’s directly for current Pokémon TCG listings and any stated gift-with-purchase terms. The available reporting does not establish whether Macy’s is still fulfilling the promo with online orders or which current product listings qualify. Do not assume a qualifying purchase will receive the card unless Macy’s confirms the offer on the listing or at checkout.
Keep the Mewtwo offer separate from other 30th-anniversary promos
This reported Mewtwo card offer is distinct from the 30th-anniversary promo pack described on Pokémon’s official Japanese anniversary site. That site says a one-pack prize is distributed to Gym Battle participants in Japan from September 16, 2026, through January 31, 2027, as well as at specified anniversary events. Supplies are limited, and distribution may change. Those Japanese event rules do not establish eligibility for the U.S. Macy’s offer.

The retail promotion is tied to Pokémon TCG purchases. Pokémon’s official 30th Celebration announcement says the expansion released September 16, 2026, and includes over 150 cards. That describes the expansion; it does not verify Macy’s live inventory or whether any particular item qualifies for the promo.
