What Thrustmaster announced
Thrustmaster describes the T-GT III as its fifth officially licensed Gran Turismo 7 steering wheel. It is designed for PS5 and PS4. The announcement also says Thrustmaster has become an Official Partner of the Gran Turismo World Series, extending a collaboration with Gran Turismo that the company describes as 16 years long. Direct Axial Drive and torque
Thrustmaster specifies 5 Nm of constant torque and overshoot capacity up to 10 Nm for the Direct Axial Drive architecture. These are manufacturer specifications in the announcement, not independently measured results. The announcement does not provide test conditions or a direct performance comparison with other wheels.
Harmony haptics
The T-GT III uses Thrustmaster’s Harmony technology and high-frequency torque. The company says GEAR JOLT is intended to convey gear shifts, while ENGINE ROAR is designed to resonate with engine RPM. The announcement describes these intended effects but does not provide independent testing of their strength or fidelity.

Load-cell pedals and wheel controls
Thrustmaster calls this its first Gran Turismo Direct Axial Drive bundle and the first in the series to natively integrate a load-cell pedal set. The package is also described as including a T-GT wheel with a leather finish and four encoders mapped for Gran Turismo. The announcement does not provide a full package inventory or detailed pedal specifications.

How it differs from the original T-GT
The original T-GT was announced in 2017 with a brushless motor, leather rim, four rotary dials, and T-DFB feature. Those are specifications of that earlier wheel, not confirmation of what the T-GT III uses. Gran Turismo’s 2017 announcement documents the original model; the new announcement does not provide a full, like-for-like specification comparison between the generations.
