A video demonstration of Marvel’s Wolverine running on the KyTyPS5 emulator reached 20 FPS in some scenes, according to DSOGaming’s October 3, 2026 report. That was a peak: most other areas reportedly ran at 6–9 FPS, so the footage does not show a consistently playable result.
What the 20 FPS figure actually means
DSOGaming attributed the demonstration to a video by Unreal Gaming PC. It reported that some scenes reached 20 FPS while most other areas ran at 6–9 FPS. The report identifies the emulator build as Senaxx build bb8f49c and the host system as an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080. It does not describe a standardized benchmark procedure or establish that the peak was repeatable. DSOGaming’s October 3 report is therefore evidence of a scene-specific high, not a typical frame rate or average. [c001]
The same report says it was unclear whether frame-rate drops were caused by VRAM or CPU limits. Without a diagnosed bottleneck or controlled comparison, the demonstration does not show that a particular graphics card, processor, or memory upgrade would improve performance. [c001]
How this follows the earlier gameplay milestone
On September 30, Tom’s Hardware reported that Wolverine had rendered gameplay on KyTyPS5 at single-digit frame rates. The October 3 report came later and described higher peaks in some scenes, but the reports do not establish a controlled before-and-after test: they do not provide common scenes, settings, capture methods, or repeated runs. They document a rapidly changing series of demonstrations, not a directly comparable benchmark. Tom’s Hardware’s September 30 report described the earlier result as far below normal play. [c002]

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
DSOGaming characterized the change as “20 times faster than what was previously possible,” but its report does not supply a benchmark dataset or method to verify that multiplier. The specific reported figures—20 FPS in some scenes and 6–9 FPS in most other areas—are more useful than treating the multiplier as a settled measurement. [c001]
Does the demonstration mean Wolverine is playable?
No normal-play experience is established by these reports. Rendering gameplay is a meaningful technical milestone, but the reported frame rates remain low and vary substantially by scene. Neither report establishes stable performance, a full playthrough, or completion. Tom’s Hardware identifies PS5 and PS5 Pro as the normal-play options; those are relevant for readers who want to play the game, not prerequisites for experimenting with KyTyPS5. [c001] [c002]

What KyTyPS5 is—and what its status implies
The KyTyPS5 project repository describes the emulator as free, open-source PlayStation 5 software written in C++ for Windows and Linux, with macOS support marked experimental. It says the project is based on a heavily modified version of Kyty and remains in active development, so behavior may change significantly between builds. A result from one build should not be assumed to represent later versions or every user’s setup. [c003]
Tom’s Hardware described the then-current implementation as using Vulkan 1.3 graphics output and an in-house system to decode PS5 RDNA 2 GPU instructions. That is an account of the implementation at the time of its September 2026 report, not a permanent specification for the emulator. [c002]

The available reports leave important performance details unspecified: the tested scene, resolution, settings, repeated-run results, and the precise capture or benchmark method behind the 20 FPS peak. Those gaps make it impossible to assess repeatability or make a rigorous comparison with console performance. The stated PC configuration alone cannot resolve the cause of the drops. [c001] [c002]
