The Pixel 11 Pro Fold has split-screen multitasking, but Google’s published materials do not confirm that Pokémon GO works in split screen or stays usable while another app is open. What they do establish is that the phone can show two apps at once—and, on Android 17, a floating bubble can add a third app over split screen.
What the Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s multitasking feature does
Google announced the Pixel 11 Pro Fold on August 12, 2026, and listed Split Screen among its foldable features. Its specifications give the inner folding display an 8-inch diagonal and the outer display a 6.5-inch diagonal. Those are display sizes, not a promise that any particular game will run correctly in a multitasking layout.
With split screen, two apps appear together. Google says users can save an app pair for later access, and can continue using the apps after folding the phone. The larger inner display gives the layout room for two apps, though each app has less space than when used alone.
How to open two apps side by side
- Unfold the Pixel Fold and open the first app.
- Drag a second app from the taskbar to either side of the screen. Google also documents routes through Overview or the app menu.
- To reuse the combination, save the apps as an app pair using the available split-screen controls.
These are Google’s general Pixel Fold instructions. They do not establish that Pokémon GO is compatible with split screen or that its gameplay continues normally in this arrangement.

Can a floating bubble add another app?
Google’s Pixel Help documentation says a bubble can appear as a floating window over split screen on Pixel Fold running Android 17, allowing three apps to be on screen. Google describes bubbles as a feature available on Pixel phones with Android 17, including Fold; it is not documented as exclusive to the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. A bubble is an additional window, not evidence that Pokémon GO will remain active beneath it.
What is not confirmed about Pokémon GO
The available Google documentation explains the phone’s multitasking features but does not test Pokémon GO. It does not say whether the game supports split screen, whether its interface remains usable at a reduced size, or whether it stays active when another app is in use. So the feature may be useful for keeping another app visible alongside a game, but Pokémon GO-specific behavior needs to be checked on the device.

If you try it, check whether the game can be selected into split screen, whether its controls and map remain usable, and whether gameplay continues after switching attention to the other app. These are practical checks, not outcomes established by Google’s feature descriptions.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s 8-inch inner display is the more relevant screen for viewing two apps together; its 6.5-inch outer display is the standard folded screen. Neither figure specifies how much space Pokémon GO would occupy in split screen, and Google’s published information does not provide game-specific compatibility guidance.
