Possibly—but being able to stream the same nature video every day does not automatically mean you have the rights to use it or that YouTube will consider your channel eligible for monetization. Copyright permission and monetization eligibility are separate questions. YouTube’s policies do not say every repeated loop is automatically prohibited, but they do scrutinize repetitive or mass-produced content at the channel level.
Separate the three questions
- Can you technically stream it? A video can be used as the source of a live broadcast.
- Do you have the necessary rights? If you did not make the footage, check that your permission or license covers the actual ways you plan to use it.
- Will the channel qualify for monetization? Permission to use footage does not itself establish that a channel meets YouTube’s monetization rules.
YouTube’s monetization policy applies to livestreams and says monetized content should be original and authentic, not generic, repetitive, or mass-produced. On July 15, 2025, YouTube renamed “repetitious content” to “inauthentic content” to clarify that repetitive or mass-produced material is covered; YouTube said the reused-content policy did not change. Do you own or have permission to use the loop?
If you filmed it yourself
Owning the footage may address the permission question, but it does not by itself settle monetization eligibility. Keep the original files and project records so you can document how the video was made if questions arise. That documentation is useful evidence, not a guarantee of a particular decision.
If the footage came from someone else
Read the actual license or get permission that covers livestreaming, repeated broadcasts, archived streams, monetization, and the territories where the stream will be available. Do not assume that a license for ordinary video use covers every one of those uses. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the rights needed for the live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights. Review YouTube’s terms.

YouTube identifies permission, Creative Commons terms, public domain, and applicable copyright exceptions as possible routes for using third-party works, but none guarantees avoiding a copyright claim or strike. Copyright rules vary by jurisdiction, so a label such as “fair use” or “public domain” is not a universal clearance. Read YouTube’s copyright guidance.
What can happen during and after a live stream?
YouTube says it scans all live streams for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. If it identifies such content, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn the streamer to stop using it. If the material remains, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. A license does not necessarily prevent a live interruption: YouTube says licensed third-party content may still be interrupted if the rights holder has not added the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Ask the rights holder whether allowlisting is needed and arrange it where applicable. YouTube also says Content ID claims on archived live streams are made after the stream ends, so a broadcast that ran without interruption may still receive a claim on its archive.
Will repeating the loop affect monetization?
It can be a concern, but there is no simple daily-loop count in YouTube’s policy that determines approval. YouTube says reviewers may consider the channel’s main theme, most-viewed and newest videos, watch-time distribution, metadata, and About section. The assessment looks beyond a single broadcast.

A creator-filmed loop may help establish who made the footage; a license may establish permission to use someone else’s footage. Neither alone proves that the channel’s overall output meets YouTube’s originality and authenticity expectations. Where it fits the channel, add meaningful original variation, context, or other viewer value rather than relying on a static template. That can better align the work with the stated policy, but it is not a formula or guarantee of monetization approval.
Practical checks before you repeat a broadcast
- Confirm the source. Establish whether you made the footage or have permission to use it.
- Check the license scope. For third-party footage, confirm livestreams, repeat broadcasts, archives, monetization, and territories are covered.
- Ask about Content ID. If a rights holder uses Content ID, ask whether your channel needs to be allowlisted to reduce the risk of a live interruption.
- Consider the channel as a whole. Make the value to viewers more than a repeated static template where possible, and ensure the channel’s presentation accurately describes its content.
- Inspect the broadcast and archive. After the stream, check both the live-stream status and its archived version in YouTube Studio; an archive can receive a claim after the broadcast is complete.
