1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsYou can turn prerecorded podcast episodes into a continuous YouTube live stream by composing episode artwork, audio, and a separate audio-reactive waveform in OBS, then sending the scene to YouTube with an encoder stream key. For a local setup, the computer and encoder must keep running; for a cloud route, StreamNeo keeps uploaded videos looping on YouTube without leaving a computer on. The waveform is not a built-in OBS feature documented in the sources cited here, so choose a compatible visualizer separately and test it before going live.
Choose how the stream will run
There are two practical continuity models: encode locally with OBS on a computer that stays on, or use a cloud service to loop prerecorded videos. The local option gives you direct control of the scene and its software; cloud operation avoids relying on a computer and home connection. YouTube lists Gyre as a cloud option for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming that does not require a dedicated PC. The cited information does not establish comparative pricing, uptime guarantees, or feature parity, so verify that a service supports the visual composition, playlist behavior, monitoring, and archive workflow you need.
For a computer-based setup, YouTube describes software encoders running on computers; a mini PC for OBS streaming is optional equipment, not a YouTube requirement. No specific minimum hardware specification is established here, so choose hardware based on the encoder and visualizer you select and test the complete scene before relying on it continuously.
Prepare episodes and confirm rights
Before assembling the scene, confirm that you have the rights needed for every episode, music bed, image, and other included material. YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content. A detected match can interrupt or terminate a broadcast. Even when you have permission to use third-party material, the content owner may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID for the stream to proceed without interruption.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Use episode files and artwork you are entitled to stream. If your program includes music or other licensed content, check the relevant rights and Content ID arrangements before scheduling an unattended broadcast; do not assume that a license alone prevents an automated interruption.
Enable YouTube live streaming and create the broadcast
- Enable live streaming. In YouTube Studio, open Go Live and follow the prompts to enable live streaming. YouTube says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so do this well before your planned start.
- Create or schedule a stream. In Live Control Room, create a stream or schedule one. Keep the stream details available while you configure OBS; you will need the server information and private stream key.
- Protect the stream key. Treat the key as a credential. Enter it only in your encoder’s YouTube connection settings, and do not show it in a screen recording or share it publicly.
Build the OBS scene with art, audio, and a waveform
OBS scenes combine sources, and source order controls which elements appear above others. Add the artwork and episode media as separate sources, then add a compatible visualizer as another scene element. The OBS source and media documentation cited here covers images, media, audio, and source layering, but does not establish a native audio-reactive waveform feature. Select a separate visualizer implementation, check that it is compatible with your OBS version and audio routing, and test its movement and appearance before broadcasting.

- Add episode art. In the scene’s Sources panel, use + and add an Image source. Select the artwork file and position or resize it in the preview.
- Add the episode. Use + and add a Media Source. Select the episode audio or video file. Arrange the source layers so artwork, waveform, and any video appear in the intended order.
- Add a separate waveform visualizer. Add the compatible visualizer according to its own installation and setup instructions. Confirm that it responds to the same audio source OBS is sending to the stream; a decorative static waveform is not an audio-reactive one.
- Check the composition and sound. Preview the scene, confirm the episode audio is audible, and make sure the art and waveform remain visible and do not obscure one another. Test transitions between episodes if you are using a playlist.
Loop one episode or rotate through a playlist
Loop a single file
Select the OBS Media Source and enable its Loop setting. This repeats that source; it does not create a rotating episode schedule.
Loop a playlist
OBS’s VLC Video source supports playlists and a Loop Playlist setting. VLC must be installed for this source to work. Add the episodes in the order you want, enable playlist looping, and preview the handoff from one file to the next. The documented loop controls do not promise uninterrupted unattended operation, so monitor the actual output before leaving it running.

Connect OBS to YouTube and verify the signal
- Set the destination. In OBS stream settings, select YouTube as the service if it is available, or enter the server URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room.
- Start the encoder. Start streaming in OBS and return to YouTube Live Control Room.
- Check the preview and stream health. Confirm the image, audio, waveform, and episode transitions are correct before making the broadcast public or leaving it unattended. YouTube’s encoder workflow directs creators to start the encoder and check the stream preview before going live.
- Plan for interruption. A local stream depends on the computer, OBS, and network staying in service. OBS includes automatic reconnect configuration, but the cited documentation does not promise uninterrupted operation. Verify reconnect behavior in your setup rather than treating it as a guarantee.
Plan episode archives separately from the live loop
YouTube says live streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish that a continuous stream lasting longer than 12 hours will be archived as one replay. If each episode needs a dependable on-demand page, publish episodes separately and schedule or segment the live broadcast rather than relying on one around-the-clock stream as the archive.
Troubleshoot common problems
- You cannot start a first broadcast: live-streaming activation may still be processing. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours; enable it early and retry after activation.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder: check that OBS uses the stream’s current server URL and key from Live Control Room, and confirm the encoder is started. If you regenerated the key, update OBS with the new one.
- The waveform does not move: OBS’s documented image, media, and audio sources do not by themselves establish a native reactive waveform. Check the separate visualizer’s compatibility and audio input/routing, then preview again.
- The playlist does not play or loop: confirm VLC is installed when using OBS VLC Video, check the playlist entries and Loop Playlist setting, and test a full transition.
- The stream is interrupted over third-party content: YouTube scans live streams for matches. Review the flagged material and rights; where licensed content is involved, check whether the owner must allowlist your channel through Content ID.
- The live replay is missing or incomplete: YouTube’s stated automatic archive behavior applies to streams under 12 hours. Do not depend on one longer continuous stream being archived as a single replay; keep separate episode uploads for on-demand access.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a YouTube-only cloud route, StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; there are no quality tiers or re-encoding. StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for details, or start the free day.
