To run a 24/7 Bollywood instrumental radio stream on YouTube, you need four things: live-streaming access on a verified channel, music you have permission to stream, a prepared audio-and-visual program, and an encoder or cloud service that keeps sending the feed. Clear the rights first: YouTube scans live streams for third-party music, and a licensed stream can still be interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel.
1. Clear the music rights before building the playlist
“Instrumental” does not mean copyright-free. A film instrumental may involve rights in both the sound recording and the underlying composition. Identify the relevant rights holders for every track and retain written permission or a license covering continuous YouTube livestreaming.
Check the license for the territories where viewers may listen, its duration, whether monetization is allowed, and whether it covers a saved replay of the stream. Ask the rights holder or distributor about adding your channel to its Content ID allowlist when required. A music-streaming subscription, ordinary radio permission, cover permission, or a “royalty-free” label by itself does not establish permission for this particular use.
YouTube says it scans live streams for third-party matches. A match can lead to a placeholder, interruption, or termination if the content remains in the stream. YouTube also warns that a licensed stream can be interrupted when the channel is not allowlisted: Copyright issues with live streams. YouTube for Artists likewise recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music: Going Live for Music Channels.

If a track’s rights or allowlisting status is unclear, leave it out until you have confirmation. Do not try to evade audio matching by changing a track’s pitch, speed, or mix.
2. Enable live streaming on your YouTube channel
- Verify your YouTube channel and enable live streaming in YouTube Studio. Follow YouTube’s current eligibility and activation steps in Get started with live streaming.
- Check that the channel has no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation may take at least 24 hours, so do this before your planned launch.
- Meet YouTube’s age requirement: the person streaming must be at least 16.
- In Studio’s Live Control Room, create or schedule the broadcast and choose the encoder workflow. Start with a private or unlisted test before making the station public; YouTube for Artists recommends testing before a high-production or high-investment broadcast.

3. Prepare a radio-style program
Build a documented playlist
Compile only tracks cleared for the use you intend. Keep a track order and a record of the permission for each item, including the recording and composition rights. That makes it easier to identify a disputed track and replace it quickly. Have a backup playlist made from separately cleared tracks.
Choose the visual and metadata
A static station image or a simple loop is sufficient for a visual feed. Use only artwork, animation, clips, and other material you are permitted to show. If you display track titles or artist names, make sure the labels are accurate and consistent with your rights arrangement. Avoid adding third-party background audio or clips unless the permission covers them too.

4. Configure an encoder and keep the source running
- In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create or schedule the broadcast and retrieve its stream settings.
- Enter the stream settings in a compatible encoder and send the prepared audio-and-visual feed. Keep your stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send content to your broadcast.
- Check the incoming signal in Studio. Listen for gaps, clipping, or distortion, and confirm the image and audio are aligned.
- For a continuous feed, plan for the encoder’s power, internet connection, software restarts, and a way to notice if the source stops. A computer-based encoder depends on that computer and its local power and network staying available. A dedicated computer is optional; YouTube does not prescribe a minimum hardware configuration.
Choose a local computer or hosted encoder based on the trade-offs that matter to you: local power and internet costs, control over the playlist, remote monitoring, and the provider’s reliability. YouTube’s platform documentation does not establish which particular computer or hosting provider is best.
5. Test, launch, and monitor the stream
- Run a private or unlisted test and listen for gaps, unwanted sounds, or distortion.
- Check that the visual and audio are aligned and that Studio shows the broadcast receiving a signal.
- Review YouTube Studio for copyright match notices, warnings, strikes, and interruptions. You can also read YouTube’s guidance on using Content ID matching on live streams.
- If you get a rights notice, stop or replace the affected track and contact the relevant rights holder. Use your separately cleared replacement playlist and follow your restart procedure; do not attempt to bypass matching.
Keep a person or alert process responsible for checking the feed. Even an always-on encoder cannot help if its source loses power, connectivity, or the ability to send a signal.

6. Decide whether live monetization fits
YouTube lists live ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and memberships as possible revenue features for eligible channels, subject to channel eligibility and setup. Ad slots are not guaranteed to appear. Mid-rolls may interrupt a radio listening session, so weigh the listening experience against your rights agreement before enabling them. YouTube’s feature guidance is at Monetize your live stream; no particular revenue level can be assumed for a new station.
