To connect Livepush to YouTube, open the dashboard for the relevant Livepush stream, choose Add Destination → YouTube, authorize your YouTube account, select a channel or create a live event, then save and enable the destination. If you do not want to link the account, you can instead create an event in YouTube Studio and add its RTMP stream key in Livepush. YouTube says first-time live-stream activation takes at least 24 hours.
Before you connect Livepush to YouTube
Have a Livepush account and a Google account for the YouTube channel you intend to use. YouTube requires a verified channel with live streaming enabled. If you are enabling live streaming for the first time, YouTube says activation takes at least 24 hours after your request; allow for that delay before a scheduled broadcast. Connect YouTube with Livepush’s account authorization
This is the usual option if you want Livepush to recognize your channel and use its account-linked features.
- Open the right stream dashboard. Sign in to Livepush and open the stream card for either Live Input or Pre-recorded Live, depending on what you are streaming.
- Add YouTube. Select Add Destination, then choose YouTube.
- Authorize the account. Select Login with YouTube and complete the authorization flow using the Google account associated with the channel.
- Select the channel or event. Choose the channel shown by Livepush. To create a new event, select New Live Event, enter its title and description, and choose the privacy setting.
- Save and enable the destination. Select Save Destination, wait for it to save, then turn on the YouTube destination switch when you are ready for Livepush to send the stream.
Livepush says account authorization downloads the YouTube event’s RTMP settings automatically. Dashboard wording can change, so follow the current labels if they differ slightly from these names. See Livepush’s YouTube setup guide.

Connect manually with a YouTube stream key
Use this route if you do not link your YouTube account. A stream key is a credential used to direct a broadcast to its event; do not share it publicly.
- In YouTube Studio, choose Create → Go live, then create or schedule the live event you want to use.
- Copy the RTMP stream key for that specific event in YouTube Studio.
- In the relevant Livepush stream dashboard, select Add Destination → YouTube → Configure Stream Keys.
- Enter the event’s key, save the destination, and turn on its switch when you are ready to send the stream.
Livepush says the manual setup must be repeated for each YouTube live event, and YouTube comments will not appear in Livepush Multi chat through this method. If a key has been exposed or stops working, use the current controls in YouTube Studio; Livepush’s setup guide does not document key recovery or rotation. See Livepush’s manual connection guide.

Account linking or a stream key: which should you use?
| Consideration | Linked YouTube account | Manual RTMP key |
|---|---|---|
| Setup for later events | Authorize the account, then choose the linked channel or event in Livepush. | Create or choose an event and enter its key; repeat for each event. |
| Livepush Multi chat | Linked-account features support YouTube chat, according to Livepush. | YouTube live comments are not shown in Multi chat. |
| Title management | Livepush lists title management among its linked-account features. | A key alone does not provide authenticated title controls. |
| Good fit | Recurring use or when you want account-linked features. | A one-off setup or when you prefer not to authorize the account. |
These feature differences are described by Livepush’s connected-accounts page; account linking is more than a shortcut for entering the stream destination.
Troubleshoot a missing or inactive YouTube destination
- YouTube is not available to select: Check that you are in the dashboard for the intended Livepush stream and that the YouTube channel has live streaming enabled. A first-time YouTube activation may still be within its 24-hour wait.
- The destination appears, but the stream is not being sent: Confirm that you selected the intended channel or event, saved the destination, and switched it on.
- The manual stream does not reach the intended event: Check that you copied the RTMP key belonging to that event, not a different event’s key, and entered it in Livepush’s Configure Stream Keys flow.
- A previously connected account stopped working: Livepush’s destination overview recommends reconnecting the account and saving the destination again. See Livepush’s supported destinations overview.
- You are sending the stream to more than one platform: YouTube recommends active accounts in good standing, enough upload speed for the combined target bitrates, and monitoring stream health during the broadcast. Consult YouTube’s guidance.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a pre-recorded video that should keep looping as a YouTube live stream, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option: upload the video, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the Monthly price is $9.99 per month. It is for uploaded videos, not camera streaming, and sends to YouTube only. Learn more at StreamNeo, or start a free day.
