YouTube’s player Loop control is different: it repeats playback for one viewer and does not put your channel live.
Choose the kind of loop you need

Set up a prerecorded YouTube stream in Castr
- Check that your channel can go live. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. Confirm eligibility before scheduling or relying on the broadcast. YouTube Help: live streaming
- Create the stream. In Castr Dashboard, open Pre-Recorded Streams and create a new prerecorded stream. Castr pre-recorded streaming
- Add the video files. Upload MP4 files or select recordings already in Castr’s Video Hosting library. For a playlist, arrange the videos in the desired order, toggle individual files on or off as needed, and check the displayed total duration. Castr pre-recorded streaming
- Select the playback mode. Choose Loop to repeat the playlist continuously. Choose Date & Time if the broadcast should begin at a specific time; Castr’s scheduler uses your device’s time zone. Castr scheduling guide
- Add YouTube as a destination. Connect the YouTube destination and make sure it is enabled before starting. Castr can send the broadcast to configured destinations; the YouTube destination is the one needed for this workflow. Castr pre-recorded streaming
- Review and start. Check the broadcast preview and destination settings, then start the stream. If you chose a scheduled start, confirm the selected time before depending on it to begin automatically.
This is a file-to-stream workflow inside Castr. You do not need to play the video on your desktop and capture the screen. Castr’s current plan features and storage limits can change, so check its current plan details before choosing a plan.
Know what a long-running broadcast can and cannot preserve
A continuous stream is not the same as an endlessly rewindable YouTube recording. YouTube says DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. Streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If keeping a complete recording matters, maintain a separate local archive; YouTube recommends a local archive backup. YouTube Help: DVR YouTube Help: archive live streams
Copyright and channel-policy checks
Before looping a recording, make sure you have the rights needed to broadcast every included video and audio track on YouTube. A file being available to upload does not itself establish permission to stream it. YouTube’s live-stream eligibility requirements also apply regardless of whether the source is prerecorded or camera footage. Review YouTube’s current guidance and your channel’s status before starting.
