Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →If your Livepush stream keeps disconnecting from YouTube, first identify how you connected the destination: a linked YouTube account and a manual RTMP stream key have different recovery steps. Then compare Livepush’s incoming-stream and destination status with YouTube’s timestamped health messages. That evidence helps distinguish an authorization or key problem from an unstable encoder connection, YouTube ingest issue, or viewer-side playback problem.
Start by identifying the failure point
A disconnect by itself does not reveal which part failed. Check the exact status or error in Livepush and YouTube, and note whether other destinations fail at the same time.
- Encoder to Livepush: Is the incoming stream stable, or do bitrate, frame rate, or connection indicators show interruptions?
- Livepush to YouTube: Does Livepush show its incoming stream as healthy but report a problem publishing to the YouTube destination?
- YouTube ingest: What timestamped health error appears in YouTube Live Control Room?
- Viewer playback: Is the stream actually failing for several viewers, or is the report limited to one viewer or network?
Livepush describes its monitoring as showing incoming bitrate, frame rate, connection stability, and destination publish status. YouTube Live Control Room provides timestamped health errors. Compare both rather than assuming that one service is responsible.
Recover the YouTube destination
If you connected a YouTube account
Livepush says a one-click social destination can stop working when the account connection has been disconnected. Reconnect the YouTube account in Livepush, then save the destination again. This path uses linked authorization rather than requiring you to manually supply a stream key for each event.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If you set up a manual RTMP stream key
Check YouTube for an encoder startup error. YouTube’s troubleshooting instructions for a third-party encoder that cannot start advise getting a new stream key from Live Control Room and updating the encoder. Livepush’s manual guide configures this connection for each event, so verify that the key and event setup match the current broadcast.
The manual route requires stream-key management and per-event configuration. Livepush also says this route does not show YouTube live comments in the Livepush multichat overlay. A linked destination is simpler to reauthorize; the manual route gives you a key-based setup to check when diagnosing an event.

Check encoder settings and upload capacity
These are published recommendations, not proof that a setting caused your disconnect. YouTube recommends testing the connection and choosing a quality your upload connection can reliably sustain. Its recommended bitrate depends on codec, resolution, and frame rate; use the row that matches your actual stream.
- YouTube H.264, 1080p at 30 fps: YouTube Help displays a recommended bitrate range of 5–14 Mbps.
- YouTube H.264, 720p at 30 fps: YouTube Help displays a recommended bitrate range of 3–8 Mbps.
- Keyframes: YouTube recommends a two-second interval and says not to exceed four seconds.
- Rate control: YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR).
Livepush’s January 25, 2025 incoming-stream guide has separate recommendations for sending a stream to Livepush: H.264 video, AAC-LC or Opus audio, CBR, and a two-second keyframe interval (four seconds maximum). Its listed bitrate ranges are 2.5–4.5 Mbps for 1080p/30 fps and 1.5–2.5 Mbps for 720p/30 fps. Those are Livepush incoming-stream recommendations; they are not YouTube’s ingest ranges. Do not mix the two services’ figures.

Check the encoder’s bitrate, frame rate, resolution, codec, keyframe interval, and CPU load against the settings actually being sent. If your upload connection cannot reliably sustain the chosen quality, lower the stream quality and test again. A bitrate fluctuation can be an instability pattern, but without your session’s charts or error messages it is not a confirmed cause.
Test the encoder and outbound connection
- Update the encoder software and check its own connection and error logs.
- Review CPU load and local stream quality while the stream is running.
- Review a local recording, if available, to see whether the source itself has interruptions or encoding problems.
- Run a speed or connection test and compare available upload capacity with the stream’s settings.
- If the encoder-to-Livepush connection appears unstable, try Ethernet as a diagnostic test if the device is currently on Wi-Fi. A wired connection is optional, not a universal fix.
- If YouTube’s connection test identifies an outbound internet problem, YouTube advises contacting your internet service provider.
YouTube Help’s practical instruction is: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.”

Troubleshoot by symptom
| What you see | What to check next |
|---|---|
| Linked YouTube destination no longer connects | Reconnect the account in Livepush and save the destination again. |
| Manual encoder cannot start or YouTube reports a key-related startup problem | Get a new key in YouTube Live Control Room, update the encoder, and verify the event’s manual setup. |
| Livepush’s incoming stream is unstable | Check encoder logs, CPU load, stream settings, and upload capacity. If on Wi-Fi, test with Ethernet. |
| Incoming stream appears healthy but YouTube publishing fails | Compare Livepush’s destination publish status with YouTube’s timestamped health message; check the destination authorization or key setup that applies. |
| One viewer reports a problem, but others can watch | Check whether the issue is limited to that viewer’s device or network before changing encoder settings. |
| Several viewers on different networks report a problem | Compare their reports with YouTube’s health messages and Livepush’s incoming and publish status to locate a shared failure. |
Or let it run in the cloud
For a YouTube channel that needs uploaded videos looped continuously, StreamNeo runs the stream from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, and can recover automatically if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly service is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for uploaded videos and streams to YouTube, not camera feeds. Start the free day.
