To run a YouTube channel continuously from India, first enable live streaming on an eligible, verified channel, then connect a cloud service to the stream URL and key in YouTube Studio. Before you choose a cloud setup
Check your channel can stream
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions during the preceding 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned launch. Decide whether your source is prerecorded or live
If you want to loop uploaded videos or a playlist, use a service designed for continuous prerecorded streams. YouTube describes Gyre as a cloud option for that use. If you are building a custom production or encoding workflow, YouTube lists AWS Elemental MediaLive among its verified encoders. These are different approaches, not directly comparable configurations; check each provider’s current behavior and requirements before committing. YouTube’s 24/7 live-streaming information also describes CamStreamer, an in-camera software approach rather than a generic cloud virtual machine.

Custom cloud encoding: more control, more operations
YouTube lists AWS Elemental MediaLive as a verified encoder. A custom setup can suit a live production or a workflow you want to configure yourself, but it requires assembling and maintaining the stream pipeline. The available documentation does not establish an exact 24/7 MediaLive deployment, tested configuration, or monthly total for this use case. Consult current AWS documentation and pricing before deploying.

India regions are a starting point, not a guarantee
AWS documents Mumbai (ap-south-1) and Hyderabad (ap-south-2); its region table marks Hyderabad as opt-in and Mumbai as not requiring opt-in. Google Cloud documents Compute Engine zones in Mumbai (asia-south1) and Delhi (asia-south2), and lists Mumbai as a Live Stream API location. Check that the specific service and machine type you need is available in your chosen region. Region presence alone does not guarantee availability or make one location best for every channel. Set up the YouTube connection
- Enable live streaming: In YouTube Studio, complete channel verification and enable live streaming. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- Create or schedule a stream: In YouTube Studio, open the live-streaming controls and create a stream or schedule a broadcast. For a cloud service, choose the encoder or streaming workflow that matches your content.
- Copy the connection details: In Live Control Room, copy YouTube’s server URL and stream key into the corresponding fields in your cloud service or encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Configure and start the source: Apply compatible output settings, then start the stream from the cloud service. In Live Control Room, check the preview and stream health before directing viewers to the live watch page.
YouTube describes encoder streaming as the option for more advanced productions. Its encoder setup instructions explain the Studio connection flow; the exact controls vary by encoder or service.

Use YouTube-compatible video and audio settings
For an encoder you configure yourself, YouTube recommends RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval, with a maximum interval of four seconds. Its guidance for the listed stream format specifies H.264 video and AAC audio. Choose a resolution and bitrate that match your intended picture quality and the encoder’s capacity; there is no single bitrate that fits every resolution and frame rate. Check YouTube’s current recommended encoder settings when configuring your specific workflow.
For a service that streams uploaded files as-is, the stream output may be determined by the file and the service rather than by the encoder controls you would set on a virtual machine. Confirm the service’s supported file formats and output behavior before uploading your whole library.

Test the stream before leaving it unattended
Schedule enough lead time
YouTube recommends setting up an encoder at least two hours before a scheduled event and starting it at least 15 minutes beforehand. These are operational recommendations, not guarantees of service availability. Use the lead time to confirm that the channel receives the feed and the sound and picture are correct. Check bandwidth and backup behavior
YouTube says total stream bitrate must not exceed available upload bandwidth. For a primary and backup encoder, its guidance recommends capacity for the primary bitrate plus the backup bitrate, with an additional 20% of upload capacity as headroom. Apply that advice to your actual outputs and network path; a cloud workflow still depends on the configuration and network connections involved.

YouTube recommends testing failover by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its network, then checking that the backup takes over as expected. Do not assume failover works until you have observed it in your own setup. See YouTube’s streaming tips and bandwidth guidance.
Monitor the actual channel output
Check Live Control Room’s stream health and preview, then verify that the broadcast appears on your channel’s watch page. YouTube recommends monitoring audio and video throughout a stream. A cloud service can reduce dependence on a home computer, but YouTube’s guidance does not promise that any server or service will never fail.
Protect the channel and the stream’s content
- Keep the stream key private. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the connected service before resuming.
- Use content you have the right to broadcast. A 24/7 format does not exempt music, video, game footage, or other material from copyright rules. Review YouTube’s copyright guidance and the applicable rights for every item in a playlist.
- Make the channel valuable beyond repetition. Permission to use a video and eligibility for monetization are separate questions. YouTube’s channel monetization policies address reused content; looping material alone does not establish that a channel meets monetization requirements.
- Check live-stream rules before launch. Channel restrictions and YouTube’s current policies can affect the ability to broadcast. Recheck Studio notices and the applicable Help Center rules rather than relying on a past successful stream.
Budget for the whole workflow
For a custom cloud setup, a meaningful cost estimate must include compute or managed encoding, storage, network transfer, and any service subscription. The provider and usage determine the total, and the available regional listings do not supply an apples-to-apples monthly estimate. Check current provider pricing against your intended quality, hours, and redundancy plan before deployment.
